About Tyler and Joel

In 2006, Tyler Stephenson-Donley (guitar/vocals), Joel Caputo (keyboard vocals), and Kevin O'Connor (guitar/vocals) would perform an original of Tyler's called "The Sun" in a middle school talent show. The following year Tyler and Joel would reunite to play Tyler's newly written "Worth More Than Hope". Thus the collective writing process would begin. Establishing themselves as an official band, Tyler and Joel would release two new co-written songs; "Return" and "New Song" (later to be titled "Frank and John Get In For Free"). These songs would be played at a high school battle of the bands in 2008. The following summer would be the ignition for the recording of a four song demo titled "DEMOlition". This would be Tyler and Joel's first recorded project. However it would not be the last. In the summer/fall of 2009, a second project would be produced. This one being a full-length, 12 song album titled "The Golden Age of Life". Track 6 of TGAOL featured a guest vocalist, Sam Farese. After a successful completion of TGAOL, Tyler and Joel would continue to experiment by performing in 2010 with drummer, Jake Routhier. Adding Routhier's drums to the sound was an idea that was well liked by the group and with that "Tyler and Joel" would ironically become a trio. Once again the inspiration would spark with the composing of several new songs. These new songs, along with a cover of "Reckoner" by Radiohead, would be recorded and consolidated into an album titled "Extrasensory Perceptions". This would be the third recorded project for Tyler and Joel, and the first featuring Jake Routhier on drums. Extrasensory Perceptions was released in the summer of 2012. As of now the group is once again working on new original material. Some recording is to be expected in the summer of 2013! -Updated on: 4.23.13 New album: Extrasensory Perceptions - Audio available for streaming online and physical copies are available to purchase directly from us!
