About City of Lions

When City of Lions, a pop/rock band from Orange County, California, took the main stage at Joshuafest 2012, they were met with hundreds of excited fans, most of whom had not heard of the band before arriving at the festival. They were simply drawn in by the band’s unique sound and passionate energy onstage. With this ability to draw crowds, City of Lions is actively looking for opportunities to perform their music across the country to support their recently released debut album. After having their music featured in multiple famous YouTube “Dude Perfect” videos, just one video alone getting over 1.5 million views, and on the JCTV television network, the band has gained a substantial online following, all asking that the band play in various locations around the world. It is the band’s goal that they would be a vehicle to gain influence and express the true meaning of love. City of Lions began in October of 2011 as the solo project of the band’s singer, Chad Nathaniel. Upon hearing that Chad needed band mates, Timothy Walton (keys/synth), Alan Moncada (guitar), Austin Buccowich (bass), and Michael Oliveira (drums) joined with him and the band immediately hit the ground running, playing their first show, starting on their debut album, and shooting a music video, all in the first month. Since then, the band has played alongside Switchfoot and Relient K on the Joshuafest 2012 main stage, outperformed 49 other artists to win the Wicked Music Festival battle of the bands, and opened for Jonny Craig, prompting Amy Lane from BAMF Media to write, “The night began with a five piece band called City of Lions. I hadn’t heard of them before, but I was impressed by their sound and energy. What stood out the most was the vocalist’s soulful Jonny Craig-esque voice, the energetic keyboardist, and the guitarist’s infectious smile. Girls in the audience must have appreciated their good looks, as I heard a scream from a girl at the barricade when the singer locked eyes with her.” The blog “Where Is the Me in Mommy?” has said, “It might be too early to call this band a keeper. I mean, the band has only been a band for less than a year. But if I was a gambling gal (I’m not but if I was), I’d put money that this band gets BIG!” In the upcoming year, City of Lions hopes to tour around the country to be able to share their music and message with as many people as possible. For a band only in their second year together, this sounds like a big feat, but City of Lions has the drive and passion to get it accomplished. City of lions is now 2 bands. Tones and HYPERSCHMITT
