About Tiz

Success is what happens when opportunity and preparation meet. Lyrical hip-hop
artist TiZ has been preparing for a long time, and success is just around the corner.
His first full-length project “No Hobby” (2013) quickly made an imprint on the
streets of Charlotte, NC; his former city. TiZ was getting coverage in local press,
headlining’ his own shows during major city events, and packing out performances.
“No Hobby” was even named one of Google Play’s “highest streamed independent
downloads of 2013.” When most would have went out “on top” TiZ wanted more.
Born Raymond Phillips, TiZ has overcome a lot of obstacles and hushed a lot of
naysayers during his consistent climb. When he relocated to New York everything
was against him. Moving from a small city, no label backing, no foreseeable investors
or even a stable studio. Not one to shy away from a challenge, TiZ used his limited
resources to make a way out of no way.
Even though it wasn’t easy, TiZ was determined to find his place in the music scene
of New York. TiZ’s main focus was to be able to grow as an artist but stay true to his
sound.
After meeting up Newark, New Jersey’s own DJ Proe, TiZ was able to eliminate some
of the issues that plagued his growth as an artist and created a musical bond with DJ
Proe. TiZ now the face of SoundTrack Music Group, a production camp owned by
Proe, had began to make waves in the city where some said he was destined to
drown.
TiZ put his growth to pen and paper when he dropped “Pre Leap of Faith” (2015) a
mix-tape of TiZ rapping over industry beats. Not his usual style the normally
obsessively original TiZ gained loads of new fans and made his way through the
festival scene well into 2016.
Fast forward over a dozen heading shows including SOB’s and BXC Music Festival,
and AllHipHop and The Source appearances later, TiZ is ready to make more waves.
With the released singles “Laced” and “How it Goes” from his upcoming project
“Leap Of Faith”, TiZ broke personal bests with over 50,000 streams and over 20,000
views on YouTube in less than 2 weeks.
The mass receptions of the tracks led to Bad Boy artist King Los, reaching out asking
to be featured on the remix of “How it Goes.”
TiZ has shown time and time again that successes only comes to those who are
prepared for the opportunities given to them, and he doesn’t plan to waste a single
one.
