Young Astronaut

Young Astronaut were formed by brothers Chris & Pete Boakes in the New Forest. The lead single ‘Hey Little Ghost’ from 2012’s debut album, ‘Fawn’, earned the band national radio play on BBC 6 Music and was subsequently promoted to the BBC introducing podcast. Having toured across the UK, covering almost the entirety of London’s backroom venues (The Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, The Garage, Underbelly, Dublin Castle etc.), 2016 saw Young Astronaut perform internationally to packed bookshops and bars in Beijing, Chengdu and Hong Kong. The band teamed up with grammy nominated engineer Geoff Swan (White Lies, Haim, Coldplay, Rudimental) for their forthcoming album, ‘A Gold Frontier’. Drawing on melodic hooks akin to Two Door Cinema Club, soundscapes of The National and introspective lyrics of Elliott Smith, it promises to be a defining album for Young Astronaut.
