The Cult

The concert was amazing, The Cult is still a great band and Billy is a guitarist that is worth to see alive. The only negative point was that the room at Razzmatazz was too crowded and the sound not well balanced … but Cult forever!

The Cult was great as usual. Crowd not so much. Not sure if it was because it was a casino show, but a lot of the crowd seemed very reserved. Probably my last one at a casino. Too strict on time, too strict on behavior, no openers and never an encore. That’s not the kind of shows i grew up on, nor like.. I’m sure the bands that have been around for awhile feel the same…

The Cult were fantastic! They covered all of their greatest hits as well as some material from their new release "Under the Midnight Sun". Ian Astbury's vocals and stage presence were stellar and Billy Duffy's guitar playing clearly demonstrated why he is among rock's premier guitarists. The crowd was on its feet from the onset until the very last note of the final encore song. My only critique of the show related to the opening act "King Woman". I thought that this was an extremely odd band to have open the show. All of their "songs" were very dark/dirge like with the singer's vocals being muted and without any real melody. If they have an album it should be entitled "Songs for a Suicide".

It was a fairly short set but everything they played sounded great. I initially thought that it was odd that there weren’t any opening acts but I do have to admit it was nice getting home before 10:00. My drive to and/or from Salem is over an hour.

Excellent show! Ian, Billy, and the boys rocked the casino hard! Only issues were that the show was only about an hour and 15 minutes long with no opening band, and Ian had microphone cord issues for most of the show. She Sells Sanctuary was transcendent.

Solid rock show. The Cult has proven over decades of entertainment, live or on record they know how to deliver it fresh and hot straight to your brain. Billy Duffy is a badass. (Fact) I never miss the opportunity to see The Cult, and I recommend you follow my lead.

I had only started listening to The Cult during the Covid Pandemic lockdown. I was looking for "new" music to help pass the time. I ordered a compilation of their singles on CD and became a fan. I had seen Ian Astbury as lead singer of The Doors of the 21st Century, and already knew about his impressive front man skills. The Cult came out swinging at their show at The Greek Theatre in Griffith Park on Sunday, 10/9/22. Their live performance was powerful and impressive. The tone and ferocity of the guitar playing was a delight, and Astbury stalked the stage, danced, posed, strutted and generally owned the nigth with a voice that covered the range of a desperate wail to a mysterious stage whisper. The band made a magnificent collective noise. It was my first Cult show, and I hope to see them again. Of the three opening acts, my preference was The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The band has two singers, and a punky attitude that impressed me with their rawness. The other two acts were professional, competent, but just not my taste. Skeleton Joe was more like performance art, and Woman King was so Goth that the lead singer asked for the already dim lighting be turned down! They were received well by the audience, but are not bands I will be following, Overall, a great early Fall night of music.

I’ve seen The Cult roughly fifteen times. This was a great show both big and intimate at the same time. Their energy was great as was the crowd. If I had a criticism it would be to turn to work in some songs from albums “The Cult”, “Born Into This”, “Choice of a Weapon” or “Hidden City” too. All great albums that deserve some stage love. Still the show was amazing and I’m grabbing their new album in three days.

What a great show ! So glad we made the long road trip to see The Cult in Leamington. I’ve been a fan of since the 80’s and have seen them in 2006 as well. Ian has a stage presence that doesn’t disappoint and his interaction with the crowd was great. The whole band including Duffy were energetic and electrifyingly fun. The crowd was great too, we had an amazing time at this outdoor event.

Great show, although not sure why they did not play NYC as the did on previous nights?? We only got 12 songs from the boys! Overall, the band sounded great; lots of energy. I could have dealt with a few more songs from The Cult rather than the first act, Zola Jesus. Not much enjoyment there… The second band, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club was pretty good; will definitely check out there stuff on Spotify.

Ian and Billy still got it! Wish they played longer. Saw the in Atlanta (2019) and they played for over 2 hours. Pittsburgh show they were barely on stage 90 minutes. Also Stage AE is tough venue. No seats, SRO so makes for a long pm.

Marked it down because of the venue....Absolute sell out...If you dont get on balcony or down near front...youve no chance of seeing anything...Should drop the capacity.You struggle to get to bar or toilets or merch points.Sound was ok but I didnt see bugger all ...unfortunately. Tkt price was a bit steep as well. But the band sounded on form

Sweet Soul Sister this was an amazing show..!! I was in the pit about 3 ft from Ian and Billy.. I got chills when they opened the show with Sun King. I squealed with the delight of a 16 year old when I saw Ian emerge from the shadows and grab his sacred tambourine.. I was standing right in front of Mr Duffy, feeling the vibrations from every note he played, and close enough to help him strum the guitar if I was so inclined. Ian came over and touched me twice. I even got Ian’s towel at the end of the show..! The boys were on FIRE!! And you could see they were loving every minute of being on stage..It was an AMAZING night at The Greek. It was my first time there and my experience was pure magic.

Great Father's Day weekend suprise ... i won tickets from the Greek Theatre the morning of the show. Drove from Phoenix to L.A. w/ my daughter to rock out w/ The Cult. What a fantastic venue The Greek is!!!! Than drove home after the show, to spend Father's Day w/ the rest of the family. Thank you again to the Greek Theatre & The Cult for a show i won't forget! 🤘🏽

Beat show I’ve seen in a long time! Billy stole it! He played super well and locked in with the rest of the band and seemed to be having a ton of fun. Ian hit all the notes and was his usual full tilt front man self engaging the crowd every song. John Tempesta glued it all together, kept solid time and ‘layed down the map’ for everyone. The sound was very clear. Great job!

I was very impressed with The Cult! They put on a hell of a show. Little disappointed with the opening band. But everyone has to start somewhere! I would've expected someone a bit larger to open up for them. One more thing. The filmore in Charlotte,is a fabulous place. Love it there. I've been two times now. But!!! It's absolutely ridiculous how much they charge for drinks/alcoholic beverages!!!

I love the Cult. I have seen them 4 times. the best song last night was "Phoenix" the music was solid, the venue is one of the best. cool breeze off the lake is nice. the front row Vip access is well worth the extra cost as there is a private washroom for the people who buy the VIP. my only let down was none of the bands had vinyl records for sale at the merch booth. I will be going back to this venue for more shows. the Cult rocks. Headstones were great, Glorious Sons were surpriseingly good and pop Evil was fun to listen to.

They were more awesome than I had hoped them to be! Did so many of my favorites and their new stuff .. Ian sounded great and Billy killed it! I've waited a long time to see them and there's no disappointment here, only that I can't go to see them again tomorrow in Boston!

Awesome and real heart felt performance from The Cult, Ian's voice was on it and as always expected Billy Duffy's riffage never fails. The new guys in the band Damian Fox on keys and Grant Fitzpatrick bass were the rhythmic glue the band needed to reinvigorate their live performances. John Tempesta is the best drummer for the job and his drumming on Horse Nation was perfect.

The Cult played a two hour concert with a 15 minute intermission. The band was well rehearsed and looked like they were enjoying the performance. They covered both the classics and new music. Good to see them in a smaller venue where they could interact with fans.
