FANFARA TIRANA meets TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND NEW ALBUM 2013 & EUROPE TOUR 2013 Fanfara Tirana is surely one of the most entertaining brass band coming from the Balkans. They performed all over Europe, playing in the biggest festivals as Womad, Roskilde, Sziget and many others. They've been as well selected for WOMEX and MEDIMEX. Now their new project is on the way. Their latest album, released by Piranha, climbed higher and higher the World Music Charts Europe for months, but with their new studio work Fanfara Tirana has gone further on and delivered the whole album to the londoners manipulators, the brilliant minds of TransGlobal Underground, a band that built up their music from the idea of crossing borders, or better, following the philosophy that there are NO borders at all. TGU are well known for being very keen at mixing musical styles and rythms taking no care at all about music genres or barriers created either by technology or common sense. In the years they've been overexposed as well as niche market, although they kept being very influent. They made a rule out of “mash up”, mixing all kind of music and sounds, brave pathfinders, always a step ahead innovating the music scene. The music composed by TransGlobal Underground can be seen as a kaleidoscopic trip through rituals, secrets with sudden, joyful swerves intheir tunes. Their aim is to enhance the deepest groove, looking for the red thread crossing different sensibilities and connecting their music to the multy-faceted universe of world music. The result is a blast! Ideas travelling back from London to Tirana forced the albanian musicians to go back to the recording studio with a new vision, fresh ideas and many expectations. Two very different bands got together, the contamination already took place, and the results could be the rise (being a bit pretentious) of a new music reality. Southern albanian kaba meets reggae, drums meet electronic, the voice of the albanian folk idol Hysni Niko Zela meets Tuup's black soul. Sitar strings embrace Iso-polyphony from the eagles nation and the results is astounding. Fanfara Tirana & TransGlobal Underground decided to get together for a European Tour in 2013. Why didn't that happen before? It's a perfect match. Symbiotic. Dopo aver girato in lungo e largo l'Europa con i suoi ottoni e suonato nei più grandi festival (Womad, Roskilde, Sziget, selezionata all'WOMEX, al MEDIMEX ecc) arriva con il suo nuovo progetto. Con il suo ultimo album avevano scalao le classifiche degli World Music Charts Europe per mesi sotto l'etichetta berlinese Piranha. Adesso i ragazzi hanno osato di più e hanno consegnato l'intero l'album in mano ai manipolatori londinesi, Transglobal Underground, veri geni della musica "no borbers", mitica band transglobale musicalmente e nei componenti che la formano. I TGU sono noti per la loro capacità unica di mescolare stili e ritmi musicali fregandosene dei generi musicali, barriere tecnologiche o del buon senso. A volte sono stati superesposti ed altre di nicchia ma non hanno mai smesso di essere influenti. Hanno mixato tutto ciò che, se non fosse stato per il loro coraggio artistico, nessuno mai avrebbe pensato di mettere insieme; adesso quel “mash-up” è la regola. Loro invece, sono già un passo oltre... La musica dei Transglobal è, a tutti gli effetti, un caleidoscopico viaggio fra riti liberatori, segreti ritmici, estetiche gioiose, scarti improvvisi e fantasiosi. Il tutto con unico obiettivo: l'esaltazione del groove più profondo, trovando il filo rosso che interseca sensibilità diverse e che collega lo sfaccettato universo sonoro mondiale. Il mix è risultato esplosivo! Le idee tornate elaborate da Londra hanno costretto la Fanfara Tirana rientrare in studio con uno spirito nuovo, idee fresche e molte speranze. Le bands si incontrano e si contaminano e quello che viene fuori potrebbe perfino essere definito un nuovo genere musicale con un po' di presunzione. Il Kaba albanese del sud incontra il reggae, gli ottoni incontrano l'elettronica, la voce dell'icona folk albanese Hysni Niko Zela incontra quella nera di Tuup. Il sitar si mischia con la polivocalità profana del paese delle aquile e ci si rimane di stucco. E le bands decidono di girare insieme in una tournèe europea durante tutto il 2013. Perché non era già successo? L'incontro perfetto. La simbiosi transglobale dei nuovi/antichi europei albanesi.
