About Cole
There's more than one artist under the name of Cole.
1. A Mid-90s Chapel Hill, North Carolina band with former Glendale members. With releases including how the crow came to be black [1996, mood food], 7" [1996, hep-cat] and cole - the idea of city [1998, mood food].
2.COLE started out as a recording artist on Capitol records. A single off the Girlfight soundtrack was released produced by Dallas Austin, written by Cole and Queen Latifah. During this time she wrote with other great producers such as Teddy Riley and Pharell of The Neptunes. She has had placements on the t.v. shows Freaky Links and Cupid. She has performed on Soul Train, BET Live and The Late Late Show.
During that time she found just being an artist limited her creative freedom. An artist is usually put in a box at a label. After leaving Capitol she spent a year living and performing in London with Escence. They put on a circus of a show doing experimental electronic music. This quenched her creative thirst. She likes to write songs that crosses genre. Songs that touch on subjects that are taboo. So she took time to attend L.A.C.C to further her study of music theory and piano. This inspired Cole to produce a new body of music called "The SexMobile". It is a movement of sexuality through music. Anything is possible on "The SexMobile". Not only will she release Switch, the first single off " The SexMobile". She will work with different types of artist to create music that mixes different ethnicities. This time the music will reach the masses!
