I love going to Shawn Mullin's birthday shows at the Red Clay Theater. It's such an intimate experience, and this time seeing Shawn with the band was electric! Being able to snag a front row seat added to the experience but there isn't a bad seat in the theater. I can't wait to go back to that venue again soon. #musictherapy

I first met Shawn in 1993, and while I’ve been a fan ever since my time in Atlanta, this was the first time I’d seen him live in all these years. And for it to be a house concert was so so cool. I took my friend who had met him with me back in Atlanta, so it was a major trip down memory lane. I loved the stories that Shawn told. I also am a new fan of Flamy Grant. She’s got such a lovely voice! Thanks, KC, for putting this together.

The June 22 event was magical. It was my first time to hear Shawn perform a live show. Shawn is a musician song artist that I am now adding to my play list. Perfect performance at a gorgeous venue. Loved it!!!

Shawn Mullins is a huge talent. The man and his guitar. That’s all. His vocal style is utterly unique , mesmerizing , and his voice has gotten richer and more complex over the years since Lullaby showed up on the airwaves in the late ‘90s. His lyrics paint vivid scenes of an America that many of us will never see, inhabited by fascinating characters that we will never chance to meet. Thank you, Shawn Mullins, for taking us on the road with you. You truly are a great American story teller. Thank you for the rare gift of spending an evening with an artist who genuinely loves what he does. It shows. “ You were born to shimmer, you were born to shine, you were born to radiate…. and born to never hate.” Thanks for reminding us that this is true for all of us, too. The message is a timeless one, and so was Shawn Mullen’s performance. If you get a chance to see one of his concerts, you should go.

Outstanding venue, fantastic sound, great environment, and wonderful performance. Shawn Mullins show at the HopMonk in Novato was truly wonderful. We were so happy to see Shawn again after many years and he was of great voice, played his guitar beautifully and was a great story teller. We absolutely loved the show. KC Turner does it right as the producer of these great Cookout Concert Series shows.

Shawn's music has helped me through some pretty dark times over the past twenty+ years since I discovered him. Last night's show, complemented by David Jacobs-Strain and Bob Beach was awesome. They all brought a whole lot of soul and my only complaint is that they couldn't play all night. Really hoping to see them again soon!

Last time I saw Shawn, he was performing by himself and covered a much larger number of his songs. This time he was performing with two others, which really cut into his playing his songs that I would have loved to have heard!

Shawn Mullins gave a cool performance. I was fully engaged the entire show because of an interesting mix of humorous storytelling and crowd pleasing favorites. His vocals were spot on! Plus the rapport between Shawn, Larry Campbell & Theresa Williams made it an all around enjoyable evening. On the way out, I saw Shawn in the lobby. He was kind enough to allow me to have a photo with him to send to my son and to personally thank him for all his music over the past 25 years. He was kind and gracious and for me, that was a big thrill!

Due to weather concerns the acoustic fest was moved indoors to the bar at the lighthouse inn. Shawn and his keyboard player put on a once in a lifetime concert with the crowd singing along to the songs. He also took time to autograph a bench that was a raffle item for a couple at the show. Outstanding show!

Show was great but wasn’t thrilled with the venue, City Winery. The chairs were very uncomfortable and the table set up crowded and in opposite direction of stage. The servers were continuously running around serving tables and blocking view of stage. Also overpriced food and drinks.

Absolutely the best. Last time we saw Shawn was in the Virginia Highlands at a favorite spot the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. It’s been too long and last night filled a void with heart and soulful expressions from the moment he came on stage until Lullaby and the encore “House of the Rising Sun”.
