About JD Feighner

Third-generation musician JD Feighner is a songwriter, singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist from San Diego, CA. In 2008, Feighner released the album ‘Sundays at 1620’ which opened to great reviews and sold more than 2,000 copies in its first month. In his first month of touring JD landed shows for Rock the Vote during the Democratic National Convention in Denver. JD is also an accomplished producer, recording over 300 songs and 4 albums in three years. Music has always been a part of JD’s life, his dad played drums in bars and pubs where his step-dad played in dance bands. Although JD’s dad eventually became a physician and the lead consultant on prescription drugs such as Prozac and Paxil, he had started out as a bassoonist and continued to play piano and sax in various dance bands his entire life. JD’s mom plays flute and piccolo; and, her mom played violin in a variety of orchestras in the Portland area well into her nineties. As for JD, he has played the piano, violin, trumpet, drums and both the electric and acoustical guitar. He performed in choirs, glee clubs, etc. However his interest in music really peaked when he became involved in production. As a senior Physics Major at Colorado College, he was cajoled into writing a uniquely, original composition for a fellow student’s senior dance class final. When he went into the studio for the final mastering of the piece, he was blown away. In fact, JD was so fascinated by what was going on there, he ended up working at that studio for two years. In 2006, JD went on to open a studio of his own in Colorado Springs, with an impressive mix of mic pre-amps and outboard analogue compressors, a ProTools HD 7 rig using a Digidesign control24 as its mixing interface, and, for monitoring, JBL's LSR 32's and LSR 28's. Third-generation musician John "JD" Feighner is a songwriter, singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist from San Diego, CA. JD is also an accomplished producer, recording over 300 songs & 4 albums, as well as his own album 'Sundays at 1620'
