Steven Curtis Chapman, the band, the string quartet...fantastic concert! SCC is very engaging and appreciative of his band and his fan support. You can tell he has taken good care of his voice as it shows very minimal signs of aging. My one nitpick would be that his lead vocal was very low in the mix, so much that my wife and I, at times, had to lip-read while he sang. We were in the fourth row, so maybe the sound guy heard it fine back where he was, but it was not nearly loud enough in the front of the auditorium. That being said, it was a totally fun, spiritual, and engaging experience! And the band was just first rate, to boot!

Outstanding performance and worship experience. With his "regular" band plus 4 string musicians and about a 20 person chorus, the sound was amazing. He invited the audience to sing along on many occasions which my wife noted was probably the first time for most of us where we got to sing with that kind of backup. Beside being an outstanding singer/songwriter/musician, Steven is a great MC as well. He is funny and doesn't trip over his words. Really makes you feel welcome. They performed all of the songs from the album but the one that stood out as better than the album version was the instrumental song, Carol of the Bells. They really rocked on this one! Very moving as well. This was the last performance on the Music of Christmas" tour, but I believe he has a couple more Christmas shows before the big day. Then after the first of the year he resumes his "Speechless" tour-- a great show as well. See him if you can; the prices are reasonable, many times you can still find last minute tickets, and you won't be disappointed.

Steven Curtis Chapman's powerful Christmas concert greatly exceeded our expectations, and we were extremely glad we went (for Chapman, choir & musicians, we'd rate at ☆☆☆☆☆). The only downside was a significant one though: the hideous sound system at the venue (very nice looking building saddled with a poor sound system). The sound forr the concert was often badly distorted, suggesting the speakers were being over driven and/or underpowered for the sound level, or crossovers were set wrong. At times Chapman's vocals were unintelligible (fortunately we knew the songs). The choir was often barely audible or drowned out completely. The the EQ on string section was harsh and the violins were painfully shrill. Guitars were tinny or twangy. Low frequencies tended to roar above everything else. Our only previous experience at this venue was over 6 years ago, but the sound problems were the same. For the venue, we can only give a rating of "☆" for the sound. We assume Chapman's crew brought their own mixer & mics but used the venue's amps and speakers. Almost didn't buy tickets for Chapman's Christmas show due our previous experience with another concert at this venue. Will now avoid going to this venue in the future.

It was AWESOME!! With my VIP ticket I got a coupon from him, and I was able to get his Christmas CD which was priced at $5. and so I listened to it on my four hour drive home! Love it!! A lovely couple from my Bandon Christian Fellowship also attended and we talked a lot before the doors opened! They have been fans of Steven Curtis Chapman longer than me from June 2016 when I first heard him on my Max Lucado Alaska cruise June 2016! Thankful I have seen him the past years in Salem, Oregon as it was Aug 19, 2023 at Fish Fest and Sept 20, 2024 at the Elsinore theater the same theater as this Dec 6th "The Music of Christmas" concert! I was blessed to sit in the second row from the stage and so got some good pictures on my cell phone!! Susan Jane Whisman

SCC's music has been a part of my life since 1994. I had not seen him in concert for many years, and I was praying God had kept his voice in great form for this event. Wow! Was I impressed! The Tree of Life Church was the perfect venue to celebrate this hopeful Christmas concert. Comfortable seating and great acoustics. I felt like every seat had a great view. The concert itself was a tribute to a 30 year old Christmas CD he released featuring his stylings on favorites like "Oh come all ye faithful", "Oh Holy Night", and many more. The lighting effects complimented the presentation. His ensemble included a phenomenal string quartet, a choir, and his band (Bassist, Lead Guitar, Keyboards, Drums, Peddle Steel/Rhythm Guitar). The quality of their musicianship...stunning. The performance was moving and powerful. The audience joined in for many of the selections. I leave this review asking you to attend this concert with an open heart. SCC will deliver. You will leave, ready for the Advent season and Christmas. God Bless you, Steven Curtis Chapman! (Hint: Look up the definition of "Emmanuel")

I loved getting to attend a Steven Curtis Chapman concert at a church! He is so talented and his music lifted my spirits, preparing me for the Christmas season. It was special to also see how genuine he is when he came out to sing in the audience, even coming up to the balcony! I would’ve rated the show 5 stars, but the sound was a bit too loud for the size of the venue. Also we had general admission seats and had sit in the balcony with an obstructed view behind the sound equipment.

The concert was awesome. I can’t remember how many times now I’ve seen him in concert. Going back to the mullet days. This was the first time I’ve seen him do a Christmas concert. My son is now 24 and this concert gave me the opportunity to share how and why Steven Curtis Chapman has been one of the Greatest musical influences in my lifetime. Next time I see him it would be my hope to be able to sit with, shake the man’s hand. And share part of my story how his music gave me hope when there was none

I am so very Speechless this concert was amazing. Was touched by Steven Curtis Chapman song that are so meaningful. His band was fantastic.My name is Christian we had great seats second row from the stag me and my family. We even had a Speechless flag made for the concert I believe Steven deserved it he is very special to me. When returned home from the concert told my family I want to go back and watch it all over again was sad. 2 of my favorite albums Speechless and Declaration There always next year. Steven Curtis Chapman is a top of the line performer, guitarist, vocalist, and song writer. The event was amazing, because he and his musicians were excellent. He gave us a longer and better show than I expected. The merchandise was good and affordable, too. It was a little difficult to see, because the auditorium was flat and perhaps the tallest 3 men in the place stood up in front of us nearly the whole time, and we were in the 6th row. They were in reserved seats and a part of the ministry of the church, so it was disappointing to see them not consider all those who were seated or standing behind them. However, thanks for bringing this awesome talent, Fellowship Greenville.

The event was excellent. I attended the original concert tour 25 years ago and this one took me back to that awesome time as SCC played every song from the Speechless album, plus many more of his hits during a 2.5-3 hour concert! The Willow Crystal Lake venue was great too (we got to meet Miguel the campus pastor - Such a nice man). I was able to met Steven Curtis Chapman and had front row seats because we bought VIP tickets! It was an awesome time and SCC is a man after God's own heart! His music is so full of praise and worship with amazing lyrics that touches your heart and music that moves the spirit and soul! Very Highly Recommended!

The concert was great. There were a few glitches, as there was some confusion about “meet and greet “ for the VIP guests, (myself included). One women had captured a picture of the meet and greet text promise on her phone. The answer did come about 15 minutes into the situation. One of the crew members came out to let us know that the “meet” was not going to happen. Bummer! Also, the first song was filled with audio problems, you could barely hear Steven’s voice! It didn’t take long though, and that was corrected by that song’s ending. The remaining concert was really good, and the “pinnacle” was his singing of “I do believe “ , (track #9 from his album), he was smokin at that point! All in all, it was a great performance from my vantage point at the third row (cc)!!! Thanks for the memories!

It was my first SCC concert. I loved the way he is a story teller. He had the audience singing along. I wish there were sections of the concert where they used the TV's to show him on the stage. Since there were no raised seating... I had tall people in front of me and could not see the stage and was sitting towards the back. I was slightly confused by the charity. I thought on line they were saying a portion of the tickets were helping those who had been s******y trafficked. That was never mentioned during the concert .. SCC only mentioned his own personal charity to help those trying to adopt. I wish there had been some ushers to tell the people around me who were playing games on their phones to shut them down. I had no idea there was food or drink there till I was leaving. It was a great experience.

The artist was fantastic.. The venue needs a little assistance. There needs to be a handicapped area that staff can help get in building. There were so many reserved seats in the auditorium it was unreal. People were breaking in line the entire time while waiting for doors to open.. This was a Christian concert at a church. Just very dissatisfied with venue. Loved the artist and will see him again somewhere else. The price was good, but would rather pay more to have more control..

Steven Curtis Chapman concerts are always memorable, but as a Christian I was bothered by one of his blue grass performers asking him on stage how many number one songs he'd had, "Fifty?", he asked. It seemed contrived and as Christians we are never to seek glory for ourselves; rather we are to seek glory and honor for Jesus. As the apostle Paul said, "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world" (Galatians 6:14). That's why I never vote for favorite Christian artists when I receive yearly emails requesting my vote. Paul also wrote in Galatians 1:10, "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were trying to please man I wouldn't be a servant of Christ" (Galatians 1:10).

We have seen Steven Curtis Chapman before and he never disappoints. This concert was a much more personal performance, and he made sure everyone there felt appreciated and special for sharing the evening with him. My only complaint was in the manner in which the admission was done by the moving barcode to allow entry through Ticketmaster. This makes the performance available only to people with smart phones that support that. There should have been a means to print out a barcode to allow entry if you came from a distance and didn't have coverage, or your phone does not support this moving barcode. I will definitely see Steven again, but not at this venue under this type of admission.

Amazing show that incited so many nostalgic feelings. Steven Curtis Chapman is easily one of my favorite Contemporary Christian artists of all time and this show proved even further how fantastic of an artist, loving husband and man of God that he truly is. Two times I honestly teared up listing to the meanings and stories behind his music and what it was promising. It may seem a little cliche nowadays, but I give the show 100/10, fantastic and I would be more than willing to see it again!

I wanted to give this 5 stars: for some reason the app will only allow me to give 4 1/2. I have seen Steven in concert many, many times in the past 31 years, and he never disappoints. After 51 number one songs, he still writes fresh, relevant music, and he connects with the audience better than any artist I know.-Steven was in great voice last night, and being front row center, I was able to really appreciate his talent on the guitar. I feel like a broken record (no pun intended) with the superlatives, but all I can say in the end is..:don’t miss this tour!

I was thrilled to be able to see SCC again. 15 yrs. ago, just after his sweet child went to be with the Lord, I was privileged to be at one of his first concerts back. He touched my heart with his words then and again, last night in Arlington. I have loved and followed his for so many years, he feels like a lifelong friend. I am so glad my husband saw your upcoming concert and made it one of the best Christmas gifts I have ever received. thank you for sharing your heart and your words with us. May God bless you as your continue your tour and may your words inspire and touch others as you go. God Bless and keep writing about His Endless love for us.

We really enjoyed this night with Steven Curtis Chapman. The show was about 2 hours and he was so upbeat and energetic, yet warm and sincere and treated his audience like family. The house was packed and you could feel the love for Steven and his love for us. He played all the great songs that He is known for and he was so genuine in his love for Jesus. There was about a 20 minute or more intermission/infomercial but it was for a good cause. Him and his wife have a ministry called Showhope which is much like Compassion International that you can help in sponsoring an impoverished child or adopting an orphan. Overall, it was a great show and thank you Steven!

SCC delivered another awesome concert at one of the most beautiful outdoor venues I've ever been. Sound quality was excellent. Only wish he had more time on stage, but he packed a lot into the time he had on this double billing with Amy Grant. SCC is the real deal. I've attended many of his concerts over the past 25 years and he always delivers words and songs from the heart. Awesome man, with an awesome family and humble follower of our amazing God and Saviour! Simply a must see for anyone looking for an uplifting night filled with great music, amazing guitar playing and being able to leave with a smile on your face and more hope for our world.
