About Diamond Drive

Diamond Drive is an Aarhus (DK) based metal quintet. Since 2006 the band has released three critically acclaimed EP's. “Early 2007” was the first release from Diamond Drive, which combined material from earlier projects. By critics the sound was difficult to label because of the musical diversity, but the EP took shape of a rock release. It was well received by the national media as it was rated with an average of 5/6. In 2008 came “The Infidel’s EP” which brought the band into a different direction musically. By heavymetal.dk it was called “hard-hitting post-rock” and was compared to artists such as Disturbed, Alter Bridge and The Mayfield Four. The media took a great liking to Diamond Drive and especially the single “Infidels” was praised as it was featured on a Metal Hammer compilation CD. The following years Diamond Drive toured a lot nationally as well as abroad. "Reset-Press-Play" came out in 2010 after a change in the line-up, where the band replaced its lead-singer. This was a different approach to the material and was called “heavy-hitting, crunchy alternative rock that toys with metal” by Rockfreaks.net. The EP was very well received with an average rating of 8/10 and was "Demo of the Month" in Denmark's largest music magazine, Gaffa, in March 2011. Reknowned photographer Morten Rygaard took the pictures for the album cover and was in 2011 awarded for his pictures in a PX3 photo competition in Paris. After replacing the drummer Diamond Drive performed at several festivals with great acts such as Arch Enemy, Decapitated, Suffocation, Entombed, Mnemic and Evile, while writing the material for their first full-length album, “Temporality”. The album was recorded in the summer of 2012 together with producer Jacob Bredahl (The Burning, The Kandidate, Koldborn, etc.), which is why the sound is now even more intense and seducing. The repertoire has developed into a more aggressive and energetic direction without compromising the melodic signature. A lot of work has been invested in the project, which involves a collaboration with some of the best in the music industry, including artwork by Mircea Eftemie (Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad, Nevermore, Threat Signal, etc), mastering by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick of It All, Mnemic, etc.) and photography by Stefan Wessel and Morten Rygaard (Rammstein, Chris Cornell, Timberland, etc).
