About Lars Vegas

Lars Vegas´ musical journey as a singer, guitarist and upright bass player has taken him around the world.
He started out as a young blues performer playing with american blues legends such as Louisiana Red, Big Jay McNeely, Keith Dunn, Doug MacLeod, David Evans, Hugh Pool and others.
Learning from their great experience Lars soon became a band leader in his own right.
He won several blues awards with his group The Love Gloves.
As time went on Lars Vegas got more and more involved into the pop music business, writing songs for Universal Music Publishing.
He co-founded a studio which focusses on film music and received many prizes for its outstanding work.
Lars also became a much demanded studio session guitarist.
On one of these sessions he was asked to put a band together for a new act called The Baseballs.
Lars Vegas became their musical director and played on all of their records which sold more than a million copies, helping them win two Echo awards as well as many gold, platinum and other awards.
Their worldwide tours took them to some of the finest concert halls such as the Royal Albert Hall in London.
When he was asked to co-produce an album for The Baseballs at the famous Sun Studio in Memphis, Lars took the opportunaty to take a trip back to his roots.
Following the trails of blues legends like Charlie Patton, Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, he went down to the Mississippi Delta to visit the places where they used to live and play.
Lars drove down the old Highway 61 from the Mississippi Delta to Memphis, Tennessee - learning and understanding the cultural roots of the blues.
Like many of the great blues artists, he ended up in Memphis and had the pleasure to record at Sun Studio, where the blues turned into rock´n´roll long before Elvis Presley showed up.
Delta blues men like Ike Turner, Howlin´ Wolf, B.B. King and many others electrified their instruments and started playing raw blues in a loud and wild band format and hereby made way for what was about to come.
Lars Vegas has internalized this musical development, now being a full grown blues man himself.
His musical repertoire, spanning from Mississippi Delta blues to Memphis rock´n´roll, shows the common roots of these styles and gives you an idea of how natural the progression from blues to rock´n´roll must have felt back then from a blues man´s perspective.
