About Terez Montcalm

Térez Montcalm, a versatile Quebec singer, effortlessly melds French song, blues, and original compositions with her distinctive voice and poetic rhymes. In the '90s, she crafted the music for Carbone 14's "Le Café des aveugles" and debuted her solo career with "Risque" in 1994, earning five ADISQ Gala nominations. Her second album, "Parle pas si fort," in 1997, led to a notable Quebec tour. In 2002, she returned with a live album from Montreal's Théâtre Corona.

Montcalm's fourth album, "Voodoo" (2006), a collaboration with jazzman Michel Cusson, soared to second place in French jazz sales. She then embarked on a successful European venture for two years. "Connexion," her fifth album, featured covers from U2 to Léo Ferré, an unreleased piece by Charles Aznavour, and original compositions. In 2011, she paid homage to Shirley Horn with "Here's to you," followed by "I Know I'll Be Alright" in 2013. In 2015, she released "Quand on s’aime," rich in French song classics, and embarked on an extensive transatlantic tour, setting the stage for her upcoming album.

In 2020, Térez Montcalm recorded six new songs in France. Her new album Step Out, produced by Régis Ciccarelli in a modern Motown style, is out now.
