Penny Lang

Penny Lang is a Canadian legend and a Montreal-born solo artist who has paid her dues in a long and hardworking career performing in coffeehouses, pubs and festivals in Canada, the US and overseas. She is the peer of artists like Jesse Winchester, Kris Kristofferson, Dave van Ronk the McGarrigles, Utah Phillips and countless others who comprised the 1960s North American folk scene. Penny has graced the stages of landmarks like the Bottom Line and recently won top honours at the 2006 Canadian Folk Music Awards for Best Contemporary Album and Solo Artist of the Year. She often tours with her son Jason Lang, a well-known performer in his own right. Her latest album is "Stone + Sea+ Sand + Sky, produced by Rona Barton.
