Sketch Show

For fans of the world renowned YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra), Sketch Show is surely a treat. It reunites two of YMO's members (高橋幸宏 and 細野晴臣). You could say it is somewhat all three of the members of YMO together because 坂本龍一 also does some of the co-writing on various Sketch Show tracks.

Sketch Show's music is an expansion on the sound of YMO. But Takahashi and Hosono like to get a bit more on the abstract side. Clicks and beeps make most of the background production of the music.

Sketch Show debuted in 2002 at the WIRE02 event. They soon followed with their first album Audio Sponge that same year and followed up with the 2003 release of their second full-length album, Loophole. A remix album followed in 2004 with remixes by Prefuse 73, Cornelius, and Opiate.
