About Andy Ward
ANDY WARD PERFORMS LIVE!
The past 12 months have been amazing for electronic singer and songwriter Andy Ward. A musical prodigy since childhood, Andy left the classic world of strings and began experimenting with the modern sounds of synthesized music, redefining himself as a multimedia artist; allowing him to experiment and incorporate lighting and art into his live shows.
Soon after sharing his innovative, pulsating and melodic driven track “Drinks & Money”, Sony Music Australia saw Andy’s incredible talents; immediately signing him onto their label. Early in the new year, Drinks & Money premiered on seminal ABC TV music program “Rage” – with critics commenting that the clip was “astonishing”, “mind blowing” and “the next generation of audio enjoyment”.
The first major single “Let Me Down”, premiered on Richard Kingsmill’s hit Triple J show “2017” as well being spun on Triple J’s Home and Hosed with Dom Alessio. The song’s mesmerizing yet beautiful tone immediately drew a crowd, having more than 43,000 plays on Spotify and more than 21,000 views on YouTube soon after it was released. It took 40 different faces to create the artistic brilliance that became the song’s music video.
“Let Me Down rolls through a lush, haunting electronic soundscape”, declared Aus Music Scene, “with deep, hollow beats and bass riffs and gently building synths that meld seamlessly with Ward’s textured harmonies… Andy Ward continues to set himself part from conventional artists with every release”. The glowing press for Andy continued, as his music video for Let Me Down premiered on Electric-Vibes.com. “it takes something special to really stand out from the crowd. And Andy Ward is standing well out from the crowd” proclaimed music online publication Pile Rats. They are absolutely right.
Compensating his astonishing voice is his piano mastery, leading major Australian touring agency “Harbour” to sign exclusive touring rights for Andy for his upcoming performances.
Andy’s sensitivity truly shines during his live shows. Here, Andy vastly expands what is possible for a song writer and electronic artist. On stage, he manipulates sound alongside accompanying visuals to create an all immersive, stunning experience for the audience. The show features projection mapping, orchestrated lighting, holograms, LEDs and 3D models – all of which are integrated with his music to creating an ethereal act that has to be seen to be believed. Often it feels like you’ve been drenched by art rather than simply watching a music show.
