The Royal Royal

There is something different about The Royal Royal. Nathan and Gabriel Finochio began writing music in their father’s church in Ontario, Canada. Their songwriting skills inspired a unique and powerful worship experience, prompting them to pursue their vision as a worship band.

Starting out in 2012, the band has toured with Hillsong United, Phil Wickham, David Crowder, The City Harmonic, played at Christian music festivals across the country, and released their original music to great success. You may also have seen Gabriel as a prominent member of Vertical Church Band, on tour with Kari Jobe, All Sons and Daughters, and Jon Guerra, to name a few.

Off to a powerful and promising start, the brothers soon encountered some unexpected and serious obstacles in the music industry, which began to cause roadblocks and an uncertain future for The Royal Royal. Not to be deterred, their passion of worship continued to drive them forward. Despite their circumstances, the brothers maintained an unshaken faith in God and His plan for their lives and music. Their path eventually led to them signing with BEC Recordings in 2017.

Now, they are back and better than ever. With a distinct and fresh sound, The Royal Royal delivers a new sonic masterpiece in “Rococo”. Sweeping instrumentals paired with Gabriel’s strong and sincere vocals create an innovative sound truly their own. Lyrically, Rococo presents a deep understanding of truth that reaches into the listener’s heart and soul. The trials they faced only served to make them more dependent on the grace of God for inspiration and creativity, and their songwriting shows it with a maturity and deep reverence.

“Praise is a beautiful gateway into the presence of God,” explains Gabriel. "All we want our music to do is connect people to the Lord. What else is worship supposed to do?”

Having weathered adversity and come out on the other side, The Royal Royal has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Both brothers currently serve in ministry; Nathan is on staff at Hillsong Church LA, while Gabriel works at Life Church in Allentown, PA.
