Yasen Marie

Yasen Marie started in 2007 in Bemidji, MN by Alisha Thunem, Amera Abdelrehem, and Annalise Aakhus. By writing their own music, learning new instruments, and performing for local coffee shops and open mics, they started something that would soon grow- and require a move to the Twin Cities. They started playing music festivals, bars, radio stations, podcasts, colleges, and coffee shops around the midwest, concentrating mostly on Minneapolis and St. Paul. In 2008, they acquired their bass player, Emily Olson, from a simple ad on the internet. Eventually they grew their fan base and musical background by playing venues such as First Ave, The Cabooze, Bella Festival and TC Pride main stages, cable shows, weddings and State Fairs. As they progressed, by 2011 Annalise left the group to pursue other things, and they were joined by Liz Davis- a keyboard player that could also supply some groovin' vocals and original tunes. In July 2013, Yasen Marie will release their self-titled freshman CD. Accompanying their popular tune, "King of Darkness" is an official music video found on YouTube.
