Here's an Artist who's destined to make a serious impact on several musical fronts. From operatic to spiritual, from pop to musical theater, from jazz to blues, tender or intense, N'Kenge's performances are consistent in their technical excellence. Her musical repertoire covers 11 languages and her power and control are uncanny. NY Post calls N’Kenge “Electrifying” in the role of Mary Wells in Motown: The Musical. N’Kenge is currently performing to sold out performances at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre. She made her Broadway debut in Sondheim on Sondheim alongside Barbara Cook and Vanessa Williams which was Directed by Pulitzer Prize winning James Lapine. In London, N’Kenge starred in The Genius of Ray Charles where she made her West End debut. She was hailed by Variety as “a sensational powerhouse of a singer packed in a lithe body”. A native New Yorker , She just returned from a media tour in the USA and Europe. N’Kenge displays stunning diversity when it comes to her talent and impressed with her starring role in the World Tour of the Michael Jackson Tribute Show. She graduated from both the prestigious Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. N’Kenge made her Carnegie Hall debut with the New York Pops Orchestra where NY Times called her “a classically trained diva that can stretch from Broadway, Pop Soul to Opera. N’Kenge’s debut EP TAKE ME OFF is available on itunes worldwide which was produced by Kerry Gordy, son of Motown Legend Berry Gordy,. N’Kenge has performed alongside jazz greats such as Wynton Marsalis and Ornette Coleman at Lincoln Center and has been a Principal Artist at New York City Opera. In 2009 N’Kenge had the honor to perform for President Obama at the Commander-in-Chief’s Inaugural Ball. At home on the opera stage, N’Kenge has been seen in a range of opera roles including Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Musetta in La Boheme and Therese in Les Mamelles de Tiresias. N’Kenge has made solo appearances at the White House, Kennedy Center, and at the Library of Congress which was broadcast worldwide through NPR. N’Kenge received a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a musical as a Diva in Marion Caffey’s 3 Mo’Divas and received an Arizoni Theatre Award nomination for Best Actress for the title role in Elton John’s Aida.
