A kaleidoscope of contemporary electronics fractured by kosmiche and new age music. The evolution of Metavari's work has defined the career of composer and Grammy nominated art director Nathaniel David Utesch for over 16 years (Smashing Pumpkins, Phoebe Bridgers, Weezer, Korn, Jennifer Lopez, Underoath, etc).
Metavari is best known for its scores on Mondo and Light in the Attic; including the pioneering collection of dark and phosphorus music for the short films of David Lynch. 2024 marks Metavari’s return to the stage as a trio—a multimedia event alongside new members Colin Boyd (drums, percussion) and Ian Skeans (guitars).
Metavari's records are distributed worldwide through Joyful Noise Recordings, Light in the Attic Records, Mondo, and Deathwish, Inc.
