Ólafur Arnalds

It was absolutely incredible! There's something magical about Ólafur and Janus's sound, lights and energy. They transported me to exactly where I needed to be at that moment.

I was sorry that due to getting the times wrong I missed JFDR's set and she is one of my favourite singers! But Olafur's performance was top class and beautiful to watch and hear.

I found his music in a rough point in my life and was planning a trip to fly to Europe to see him. I got very lucky that his tour was rescheduled so to see him in famous Walt Disney concert hall was incredible!! I didn’t sit back in my seat once it was truly so amazing and the talent just flows out of him . I left just stunned in silence trying to take it all in and commit the whole experience to memory . 100% will be seeing him again hopefully multiple times !

The ballroom was a portal for channeling spirit thru Olafur Arnalds and band offering a hypnotic sacred meditation/prayer of sound and light.

Phenomenal, stirring, breathtaking, with Olafur’s grounded humor to make this an endearing and engaging performance.

Fantastic and unbelievably magical….roaring electronica serving the gentlest of moments with strings and piano. A conversation of hearts.

I was crying with the last song, I lost my grandma over a year ago, and the worst was that I couldn’t able to go back and see her ..., once we where out and I played near light for her

Last night, Louise and I were both quite literally transported to other places, listening to this man’s compositions. He was very soft spoken, but engaging with all of us, and kinda funny. He spoke of it being his second live show since Covid, and that he so missed the “conversation” of a live performance. Our voices were all sampled, and included as part of one of the pieces. It was all quite sublime. I’ve followed him since hearing his music in the movie The Hunger Games (thanks #Shazam!) It’s not for everyone, for sure. But hearing him live on a grand piano, several keyboards and computers, with a cello, viola, 2 violins, drums, and some sort of muted upright piano thingy that at times he played and at times became automated and played along, with a minimalistic but also grandiose light show that was in sync with different aspects of each piece, it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I’m definitely seeing him again. ❤️

This concert was everything I hoped it would be. And what's more, I think the lighting was equally as breathtaking as the music (which is saying a lot!). I'm so thankful that this performance came to Toronto.

I have been to the concert of Ólafur Arnalds in Antwerp in Queen Elisabeth Hall (October, 2018) and the sound quality and the ambiance was far better that time compared to the concert in Cirque Royal. On the other hand, the music of Ólafur Arnalds is magical, always even the venue was a very disappointing.

As good as it was the last time he was here in Toronto! Although I think the TSO may have forgotten to tune one of his pianos. 🙁

Beautiful performance. Olafur and the violinists, cellist and drummer came together in a masterful way, heartfelt and full. My favourite was the last song - Lag fyrir ommu - and before it, his story about his grandmother. You can feel the piano singing out and then, from heaven, the violin replying. Be still. What a performance - Olafur is also an engaging story teller - sharing with the audience between songs. My second Olafur show (first was part of Illuminite)...Waiting for the next one already.

Ólafur and the band were absolutely amazing! The music and lighting were beautiful, the venue (Roy Thomson Hall) was a perfect location, and he was super humble and funny as well. If I had to give one critical feedback, it would simply be to wish the show was longer lol. Hope to see him again soon!

Beautiful in absolutely every way. So glad we made the trip to Boulder to see this show.

Mix of classical and electronic was super cool and all the instruments especially violin sounded really nice

Absolutely beautiful gig! Ólafur Arnold’s is a pure genius, so humble too. Can not praise this event enough.

Closest I've come to having a religious revelation - moving, humorous, humbling, and intimate, this set featured the startlingly beautiful and complex music Arnolds is known for. I've waited years to experience it live and this concert made that time well worth the wait.

music was brilliant! One small side note: there was some kind of glitch in one of the mics or speakers. pretty anoying, but luckily it disapeared halfway the show.
