Rai

There are three artists with this name.

Rai Kamishiro is a Nerdcore Hip-hop artist who has released two songs on the Rhyme Torrents compilations, both in Japanese. Working out of Seattle, Washington, her producer is fellow Nerdcore artist Ultraklystron. Her first album is expected soon.

Roman Horinek (aka Roman Rai) belongs among the most popular progressive house djs in the Czech Republic, running a famous prog night "Zen" in the legendary Prague club Roxy, for which he is regularly inviting the best djs and producers in this genre. Nowadays he is also well-known for his own production, with a couple of releases on Tribal Vision, Millenium/YSE, Groove Zone, Existence, CR2 and of course his own internet-based label Solstice Records. His smooth, emotional tunes are widely played and charted by top djs like Hernan Cattaneo and many others.

The other artist by the name of Rai recorded her first album, La Magical, in 2004. In 2005, she was given a demo deal by Capitol Records. Her demo is expected to be released in 2006. Some of her songs include Wishing Well, Woodward Avenue, and Some Girls. Rai is currently working in her band White and the Writing, and as a vocalist. She has just teamed with Techo producer Chirs Cowie in June, 2008. No word when a release will be made, but you can track her and her band on myspace.com or virb.com.
