In 2007, a five man group set out to create some of the hardest hitting metal to come out of western New York. This was the start of WoodHaven. The album "Watching From The Shadows," released in 2008, launched the band into the spotlight. After several DIY tours, the group started landing national/international tours with acts such as Suffokate, Dr. Acula, Malevolence, Arsonists Get All The Girls and more. WoodHaven gained a reputation as one of the most infamous underground death metal acts. The sound continued to evolve into the unique monster it is with the bands latest EP "Requiem." Connor Welsh at New Transcendence noted "Never satisfied with residing in the middle ground, Woodhaven are a band of extremes—making them of extreme noteworthiness in a genre laden with mediocrity.
