Trumpeter/bandleader David Young has a genre-bending style that has allowed him to move fluidly throughout the music world. He is the leader of The David Young Band and has performed and recorded with top talents like DNCE (Cake by the Ocean), DJ White Shadow (Lady Gaga), Alejandro Escovedo, Wynton Marsalis, Nicole Mitchell, Richard Patrick and more.

Young has an extensive discography which includes two critically acclaimed solo albums, Appassionata (2001, Big Chicago) and Silverback (2014, DYP). A third solo album is scheduled for a second quarter release in 2018.

Based in Austin TX, David hails from Chicago where influences of jazz, blues and classical music made their way in to his playing and songwriting. Young maintains a busy performance schedule and has a weekly residency at C-Boys Heart & Soul in Austin.
