The Sword

At last night’s Sword concert at the Mohawk in Austin, this stoner metal band truly ROCKED. The crowd was great too. Between Zombi and The Sword, I met and made a few new friends, then I was baptized in the glorious human mosh pit, pelted with beer, hair, sweat and spit. Living, breathing humanity!🤘🤘🏻🤘🏿

Awesome band and really cool venue! Zombi and The Sword both put on an amazing show and their encore together was the icing on the cake! Will definitely be seeing them again.

Super good show on a Sunday! The opener was good but not a rock-n-roller type. The ambience was interesting leadung up to the headliner but The Sword delivered the goods. The encore of Mr. Crowley with part of the opening band was crazy good to end this great show.

True Metal. Not convoluted or stupid. Final encour a tribute to Mr. RHODES. The SWORD had Zombies bassist rip the intro on keys to Mr. CROWLEY. Excellent job and made most people grin ear to ear. One of the best concerts to hit Phoenix in 2022. Get off your ass and go see them.

The show was great! Smaller turnout than I expected, but it was a Thursday night. Beautiful venue, carved wood, pillars, very intimate. Felt like the cut the show a bit short. One song encore, Mr. Crowley! The show, the band was magnificent! So glad I went, even though it was Thursday night.

Awesome freaking band to see live! Zombi was a great opener too! Hawthorne is the perfect size venue not too small but not huge. There is even a sitting area upstairs if you're into that!

Another killer show from The Sword. A few issues with monitors at the start, but it did not diminsh the performance. Majority of songs from Age of Winters and Gods of the Erth, super tight.

All of the bands sounded great and I enjoyed the show, but The Sword’s set went on for too long in my opinion. I think you should leave a show wanting more from a band but this set left me with a feeling opposite of that. Great show overall though! :)

The venue was small, prices were decent, the sound was a bit off - blew a speaker & layout of venue. The Sword played well and gave a vibe that everyone was included.

the show was excellent. The Sword was really tight and worth the money, and then some. The Atomic Bitchwax was super talented as well, especially the bass player. that guy is killer.

Great show. Both bands had solid sets and played tight. The sound was good as well. Only thing I would complain about is that the vocals and second guitar during the Sword's set was too quiet. Synths too for that matter.

The sword slayed it. Played a nice mix of new and old. Merchandise top notch. The ready room awesome venue but needs a sound system upgrade. Monitors were a little punchy

The band seemed tight from what I could make out and had good energy. However, the sound (board operator or venue, IDK) was terrible. Much of what makes The Sword so great are their tight guitar harmonies and nice little licks that add such depth to each song. Unfortunately, much of that was lost in a muddy, confusing blend of noise. I cant blame the band because they looked in sync by observation. Since this was my first time at this new location I dont know if the root cause is the venue or the board guy. I wish I coyld rate the band separately from the experience somehow but I cant go above 3 stars on this show.

They are not the Sword of old. They are still one of my favorite bands but the new album does not really grab me. They play a lot of material from the new album and they got a short set, so I was left wanting.

Excellent showmanship!! I cannot wait for their future work. My personal favorite was Mist and Shadow and of course the encore! Again much appreciation for even thinking of little ole Des Moines.

The Sword was fantastic. sound was good. fun show. Purson had apparently just arrived stateside and we had to sit through a soundcheck between songs. they were entertaining. both From Beyond and the local opener were very good

The venue sucked. Great show by the band's, but the Wonder Ballroom is terrible. Over 2/3 of the venue was 21+ and was separated by a shitty collapsible rails that I, other fans and people that worked there had to hold the entire show. The rail would fall if we didn't hold it! Wonder Ballroom ruined it.

the venue is on the smallish side, so hopefully you don't mind rubbin elbows. very packed but well worth it. caught half of o'brother and enjoyed it very much. lots of tempo changes within each song. singer reminded me of Tom Yorke of readiohead. big buissiness rocked it. and them came the sword. layed down a good 90 minute set of favorites of their new album. wished I could have heard their cover of working man like last time. but you can't have everything. but they put on a great show and will be more than happy to se them again.

The show was awesome. The Sword did a great job. Only you could barely hear the vocals and they had no interaction with the crowd. Clutch was great. All in all great show. The venue Iron City is a great place

Too busy, pittn to take good pics. Drove 260+ miles round trip to see em! Worth every effort & can't wait to see you guys out West again! Long live, The Sword!
