This was one of the best shows I ever attended. First of all, Sophie Auster's voice is so beautiful and smooth; it can be powerful and fragile - often being both at the same time - and conveys so many emotions with such purity that it just took my breath away at times.
Moreover, the way she moved her slithe body along with her music let me transfixed. She is clearly not one of those singers who deliver their music in a kind of passionless way. She seemed truly happy to share it with us and the fact that the room was so small brought an intimacy that went well with the nature of her songs.
Eventually, let's not forget to mention the two incredibly talented musicians who accompanied her and enhanced the emotions conveyed.
Clearly, for me, an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to any music lovers.

About Sophie Auster Music
Sophie Auster has reased three LP’s and two EP’s over her career and is currently at work on new music during the lockdown. She has been very active during the time of isolation, hosting a weekly Instagram live show on Friday evenings, where she performs, takes requests from her audience and interviews guests. She released an intimate cover of Tina Turner’s “The Best” recorded in her closet during the lockdown.
Auster’s music is replete with fantasy and escapism, a sonic fusion of bluesy folk-pop with cabaret dramatics reminiscent of Lana Del Rey and Sara Bareilles. The New York Time’s called her "sultry and folksy,” with “soul-(and teeth-) baring lyrics...that’s drawn comparisons to Fiona Apple and Gillian Welch.” Elle Magazine dubbed her “Auster on Fire.” Auster spent the better part of 2019 putting out new music and touring the US and Europe. Her last full length album, Next Time, was released in April 2019 through BMG worldwide and the EP, History Happens at Night, came out later that year on November 1st (BMG). She spent the summer of 2019 opening for, Rock & Roll Hall of fame inductee, Bryan Ferry and then spent a month in Europe on her own headlining tour.
During the 2020 election, Sophie and a group of American authors, songwriters, screenwriters and poets, formed an activism group called “Writers Against Trump. The group has has now evolved into “WRITERS FOR DEMOCRATIC ACTION” which champions the principles of democracy and human rights. https://www.writersfordemocraticaction.org
Over the past year, Auster has been working on new material for an upcoming EP entitled, “Dancing with Strangers”, collaborating with producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Nick Block, based in Los Angeles. He owns and engineers a state-of-the-art recording studio where he produces content for label and independent artists, and creates bespoke music for advertising, film, and TV. He’s recently had songs licensed with Apple, Facebook, Sephora, Syfy Network, and Amazon, among others. His publishing catalog is represented by Peermusic.
The first single is slated to come out this fall and “Dancing with Strangers” is set for a release in early 2022.
"I have been working on a collection of soulful dance songs during this painful and uncertain year. My intention was to write and compose music that would move people to get up on their feet in a post lockdown world. I see these new songs as an instrument of catharsis and an expression of the sheer joy of being alive, no matter what the circumstances.”
