About BK Willy
BK Willy is the founder and front man of Los Angeles based Take Back the Night Productions.

His slamming breakbeats, liquid drum and bass, and glitchy ghetto funk sets will leave any dancer sweaty and satisfied.

BK Willy was born and raised on the frozen tundras of Minnesota. After 19 years of listening to everything from Frank Sinatra to Daft Punk to Notorious B.I.G. to the Spencer Davis Group, BK found himself entering the rave scene in 2006 at the hand of a local DJ and close friend, Inande, part of DC Productions, who were based out of Minneapolis, MN. At a party called “Sign of the Times,” BK was exposed to artists such as Dieselboy, Dara, Evol Intent, DJ Rap, Oliver Lieb, and many more acts that continue to influence him today.

In 2009 BK relocated to Los Angeles, CA. There he stumbled across a group called The Do Lab as they were preparing to reactivate their annual festival, Lightning in a Bottle. At LIB, BK was shown the West Coast style and his horizons were further broadened as he absorbed the new glitch hop infused bass heavy sounds being presented. At that point BK began promoting for LIB every year, as well as for local Do Lab shows which featured artists such as: RJD2, Opiuo, Gaudi, and many more.

Over the next two years, BK began DJing as a hobby, slowly focusing more and more on the craft as a creative outlet. Then, in October of 2011, he was gifted the opportunity to open the one year anniversary of the Big Bass Allstar Variety Show, hosted by The Good Vibe at the King King in Hollywood.

One week later, BK Wily launched TBTN, a small private event, held in the deep afterhours of Friday nights in Hollywood. From that day to now, TBTN has evolved into Take Back the Night Productions, a full scale event promotion, production, and planning service, booking agency, and pro audio retail sales business, all with BK at the reins.

BK Willy has appeared at many venues, from the King King on Hollywood Boulevard to the Sands Regency in Reno, to First Ave in Minneapolis, MN, and many places in between.

You can also catch BK Willy on the festival circuit, with recent appearances at: Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas, 2013), Burning Man (Gerlach, NV, 2012), Lucidity (Santa Barbara, 2012), 5 Points (Mt. Baldy, 2014), Pure Planet (Lake Isabella, 2014), Boogaloo Mountain Jam (Lake Elsinore, 2012), and many more up and down the West Coast.

BK Willy has been featured on the FM airwaves many times over the last three years, with appearances on both “RadiobombFM” (KPFK 90.7FM LA) and “In a Dream w/ Mystic Pete” (KXLU 88.9FM LA), and scheduled appearances on “Run that Radio” 96.3FM (Eu Claire, WI) and “Los Lokos del Techno” (1530AM Minneapolis).

BK has shared lineups with and opened for artists such as: Total Science (Hospital Records), Elite Force (Stereophoenix), Keith MacKenzie (IllEleven), Synthetic Hype (Breakz R Boss), DJ Dan (Thrive), DJ Icey (Zone), Stickybuds (Jungle Cakes, Ghetto Funk), Orphic (Adapted Records), Russ Liquid
(Lowtemp), and many more.

Today BK is seeking DJ gigs, festival bookings, and production collaboration.
