Duo de « vétérans » Franco-Britannique issu de Paris, IATHL dont les 3 albums et 1 Ep précédents sortirent sous l’appellation Igor And The Hippie Land.
IATHL s’est d’abord construit à Londres où Igor et Emanuel (Manu) ont vécu cinq ans à la fin des années 80. Ils y ont rencontré Claire Gristwood, auteure Britannique, qui au fil des années écrira les paroles en Anglais d’un grand nombre de leurs titres. Ils vont d’ailleurs collaborer avec le batteur Terry Lee Miall (ex Adam and the Ants). De retour en France, après diverses formations, ils vont sortir plusieurs albums et singles sous le nom IATHL initiales de Igor and the Hippie Land. Au compteur ils ont 4 albums et un EP.
Ce quatrième album voit le jour pendant la pandémie. Igor Stanislas et Emanuel McManus vont puiser dans un nouveau processus de création plus moderne en explorant un tout autre univers artistique. C’est leur grande particularité, ils n’hésitent pas à explorer de nouveaux horizons artistiques n’étant pas figés dans un unique style. Les textes et les musiques de ce nouvel opus sont plus intenses et urbains .Cette nouvelle production est empreinte de modernité sonique et mélodique aux arrangements rock et parfois électroniques. La voix de crooner d’Igor se mêle aux riffs de guitares électriques soutenus et innovants de McManus dans un univers cinématographique.

…And so it began with the unwavering complicity between two French friends – Igor Stanislas and Emanuel McManus - and their mutual passion for music, influenced over time by years spent in Paris and in London and leading on to working with long-standing British friend, Claire Gristwood, on lyrics in English.

The chemistry between the three friends gives an interesting mix of classic and indie rock with occasional shades of progressive; a resolutely modern sound, cleverly interspersed with symphonic arrangements.

Add together the depth of singer Igor Stanislas’ voice, powerful riffs and mandolin from guitarist Emanuel McManus along with inventive drumming from Philippe Jeoffroy and the end result is undeniably powerful, sophisticated, universal.

Global lockdown in 2020 saw the band take a more urban, electronic path, resulting in a new album entitled ‘4’, due for release the 26.05.2023. With the accent on some mighty symphonic arrangements and extraordinary guitar, plus lyrics once again from London-born Claire, the album ‘4’ is dark, classy and very cool..
