Several bands or artists have used this name, including:

1) Pharrell and Chad Hugo, a duo of record producers based in their hometown of Virginia Beach, VA USA, who have created the sound for some successful hip-hop, R&B and pop artists' work, including
Nelly's Hot in Herre;
Jay-Z's Change Clothes;
Snoop Dogg's and Justin Timberlake's Signs;
Kelis' Caught Out There;
Toni Braxton's Hit the Freeway;
Britney Spears' I'm A Slave 4 U;
Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl;
and half of Justin Timberlake's solo debut "Justified". They have also been in heavy demand as remixers, re-working tracks for artists including Alicia Keys, Angie Stone, Limp Bizkit and The Rolling Stones.

This duo's sound is a highly distinctive brand of off-kilter, stripped-down electronic funk with a heavy debt to Prince. Along with Timbaland, they were instrumental in introducing eastern-influenced and indian melodies into the modern hip-hop mainstream. In 2003, they released a self-credited album called "The Neptunes Presents... Clones," featuring songs and remixes from various artists. This album topped the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
