Raised in Godly, Texas, alt/southern rock blues trio Ledbetter Company is defined by their youthful, energetic and clever approach to telling universal stories and connecting deeply to their audiences through expertly-crafted songs about life’s many adventures. Comprised of brothers Jc Ledbetter, Cody Ledbetter and close friend Deantae Wofford. The band’s recordings and performances reflect members’ commitment to on-going musical study and the varied strengths of their greatest influences, which include Levon Helm, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jim Hendrix. Their enthusiasm for learning the many different components of their craft, from songwriting, to music theory and even recording and production has allowed them to become experienced professionals at a young age and continues to command the attention of fans in their hometown and beyond. Their creativity, dexterity as instrumentalists and sense of humor along with their intense drive to leave their own mark on the world as creative masters of their respective instruments allows them to regularly travel to unexplored, delightfully-surprising territory. Ledbetter Company’s on-going journey as a band has been dually marked by their passion for forging their own, innovative path and each brother’s commitment to exploring the many nuances of his instrument and its exciting place in the musical world with the help of skilled mentors. As children in a tight-knit family, they stuck close together, enthusiastically putting on shows for their parents and grandparents in their playroom by playing their favorite tunes and singing along, transforming toys into guitars and drums. Jc, the eldest, started playing guitar at age 9, moved to diligent study and practice by idols like Stevie Ray Vaughan and masterful guitarist Billy Gibbons.. Knowing since his earliest encounters with music that he wanted to pursue it professionally, he started writing and singing his own songs. Cody, the middle brother was drawn to the bass at a very early age. Following Jc’s example, he began to study formally when he was 13, also simultaneously picking up drums and guitar. Deantae came into the brothers life after their mom had passed away and Cody had started playing in another band. Deantae has played in many bands and is well known around Fortworth, Tx. He has been a great missing piece to the band. He is very valued and is another brother. Nurtured in a home where the music and free self expression were highly valued, the brothers played at church from the age 12 & 14 to now. When they were 16 and 15, Jc on Lead electric guitar, Cody on bass joined Troy Brewer with Joshua Rising and traveled up north to Indiana and across the Ocean to London, England. Were they played in front of various amount of people. Jc, went on and traveled to India and Uganda, East Africa, were he played and lead music for hundreds. Cody on bass and backing vocals and their former lead singer, went on and played for another band touring around the stockyards and other parts of Fortworth/Dallas. In 2015 the brothers decided to form a full time band together and make their own record. Ledbetter Company has released their first full length album “ We’re so Grown Up” dedicated to their mother Paula Ledbetter who passed away in 2005. Ledbetter Company is more than just a small town band, the music that the Ledbetter brothers write and play brings a new sound and presents into the room.
