Hunter Dawson is a talented singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist along the Emerald Coast in Florida. With over 20 years of experience, Hunter has developed his own unique style and intoxicating sound. As a young boy growing up in Hawaii and being a surfer, he listened to his father play slack-key Polynesian/Spanish style finger-picking for years and naturally gravitated toward musical influences that reflected the carefree, beach culture. As of late, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Jason Mraz and the like, frequent his iPod and fuel his love for the ocean and all its mystery. Hunter relocated to Destin, FL, and started playing smaller, intimate shows as a duo with a local percussionist and named themselves Common Thread. The eclectic mix of acoustic beach rock & '80's alternative seemed to strike fire in the wine bars, restaurants and local club scene. That is when the ladies found them--BRIDES to be exact. Hunter Dawson & Common Thread began to accept requests to set the tone for MANY beach wedding ceremonies and have been asked to entertain numerous groups of attendees at many destination weddings/receptions along the Emerald Coast. Soon after, three unsuspecting guys approached them to ask for help recording an album, which turned into a vision larger than all of them put together called HERITAGE. Hunter's impeccable value system and easy going personality make him the perfect ingredient for anyone who enjoys the acoustic guitar and the ocean. Between solo and group performances, Hunter plays small private and corporate events, along with numerous weddings and festivals throughout the year and is a surefire recommendation from those around him. He was rated #1 Brides Choice Award two years in a row for solo acoustic guitarist in the area (Wedding Wire 2009 and 2010) and continues to share his love for the beach-life with all who will listen.
