About Brandon Holland

Brandon Holland is living out a dream his own father never got the chance to fulfill, and every time he picks up a guitar he’s thankful for the chance to express his talent and follow in the footsteps of his talented dad, a musician who passed away when Brandon was just 5 years old. Growing up in a family steeped in country heritage and musical traditions that reach as far back as the early 1900’s, Brandon was surrounded by music from the time he was born. He grew up influenced by the sounds of legends like Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, and Fats Domino through his grandfather, who gave him his first guitar at 11, and by 12 he was already writing his own songs and playing dances as a teen. As a young artist Brandon played cello and drums in school as well and was also influenced heavily by the soulful sounds of artists like Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, and later Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Chris Daughtry, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean, and played in bands around the St. Louis area for several years before electing to relocate to Nashville to try his hand at a serious musical career. His first EP yielded a successful single on secondary radio, and he has recently been hard at work on the followup to that project, “Born To Roll,” which is due out in early 2015. Holland has spent the past few years traveling the country visiting radio and opening for artists like Florida Georgia Line, Frankie Ballard, Kellie Pickler, Dwight Yoakam, Jodee Messina, Bucky Covington, and Casey James, and playing at fairs and festivals around his hometown region. For Brandon, time on the road served as serious inspiration for this latest CD, which includes tracks like “Born To Roll,” “This Is Home,” and the autobiographical, “Gypsy Ways,” which he deems the story of his life in a song. “That song basically is a true story about my life — it’s my life within a song, and it’s me as a person,” reveals Brandon. “I‘m always traveling whenever wherever, and I feel like I’ve lived my entire life for the past four years on the road. It’s taken a toll on my relationships and been hard to be away from my loved ones, but traveling around so much really laid the groundwork for this new CD. “I worked as a carpenter for years supporting myself before I pursued music full-time,” continues Brandon, “and I’ve met so many friends through that and through my music on the road and played for so many people. It’s helped me become a better artist – life is all about people and the relationships that you have, and I love meeting new people and hanging out with new friends. I look forward to playing for many more in the years to come as I continue my country career, and hope people enjoy these new songs as much as I’ve enjoyed living and writing them.” Country singer/songwriter living in Nashville, TN.
