About BIG CHIEF AND THE MIDNIGHT GROOVE
BIG CHIEF AND THE MIDNIGHT GROOVE was formed in 1996 in Westchester County, NY by founding members DANNY CAVAZZI, GLENN CAVAZZI, PHIL LoPRESTI, PHIL CRISTOFARO and JAKE SHAW. Ever since the first note was played, the band's mission statement has always been about THE MUSIC and THE VIBE, a mission statement that still stands to this day.
Over the years, the band has had several line up changes and some of the area's finest and gifted musicians have passed through the ranks of BIG CHIEF AND THE MIDNIGHT GROOVE.
The biggest highlight in the bands career was as opening band for THE BAYOU MUSIC FESTIVAL in Croton Point Park,NY in 2000 where GOV'T MULE and THE DISCO BISCUITS were the show's headliners.
The band has also showcased original material at THE KNITTING FACTORY and THE CONTINENTAL in New York City as well as receiving numerous accolades on the live music scene.
