About Mike Munich

MiKE MUNiCH's talents as a singer, dancer + model as well as his impressive resume make him a true triple threat to watch out for in the pop music world. Although he came to Los Angeles to focus on the pursuit of a dance career, it wasn't long before his curiosity + talents led him to modeling, acting + his true passion, music. Having a natural knack for fusing electro-pop dance beats with catchy vocals + high fashion visuals, Munich says " the two things I turn to for inspiration are music videos + fashion editorials. They feed my soul. By becoming an artist, I have been able to combine fashion, movement + music on my own terms." Growing up in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Munich always knew that he wanted to pursue a career in entertainment. He spent countless hours watching MTV perfecting the moves of Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez + Kylie Minogue. At the age of 7, he traded in the baseball bat for the ballet slippers + it wasn't long before he began begging his parents to move to Los Angeles. Instead, Munich got his start by signing with a local modeling agency at the age of 15. After a brief pit stop in New York City, he finally made is way to the City of Angels in 2005. Since coming to LA, Munich has performed with some of today's biggest superstars + his own personal inspirations - Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Beyonce + even a Spice Girl. Munich was featured on the first 3 seasons of FOX's hit tv show GLEE, with a recurring role as a member of the rival show choir team, Vocal Adrenaline. He has also been seen on such television shows as The Real O'Neals, 90210, Dance Moms, America's Got Talent, Shake It Up, The Oscars, The VMAs, The AMAs, The Billboard Music Awards + The Grammy's. In May 2012, The Advocate named him one of their "architects of the next decade" for his work as an entertainer + musician in their "40 Under Forty" issue. His debut single "Beat the Beat" (a call to nightlife lovers and denizens of the dance floor to ditch the dudes and fall in love with the music) premiered in the fall of 2011 and has been described as a "delicious slice of catchy electro pop ... think a male Robyn meets Natalia Kills" (GayTimes UK). Set to a rolling ride of catchy electro beats, "Lights Out" (the debut EP from Munich) is an honest and unapologetic symbol of youth's dichotomies - glamorous yet sketchy affairs, passionate yet superficial sex, and ambitious yet careless judgement. Munich says "these are songs about what happens when we turn off the lights, written during the years I was searching for love in the club. I think the things we put on every day, both clothing and attitudes, are costumes. Fictional representations of how people see us. But it's at night when we all demonstrate a common primal instinct, one driven by the passions and emotions that bond us. We have a temptation to fall so convincingly, madly in love with a moment that may soon become "what was his name again?". It's not a shameful thing, it's what makes us all alike. This has been a part of my journey that I am now sharing in my music." The official fan page of MiKE MUNiCH mikemunich.com
