About Dear Delusion
Dear Delusion was formed in 2008 in Copenhagen.
Founding members bassist Martin Lind and guitarist and vocalist Simon Roland met each other while sharing the same rehearsal room, though they played in different band constellations. Their passion for alternative hard rock music and their common despise of the mainstream commercial music scene brought those two fellows together and they decided to form Dear Delusion.
After playing with several drummers they recruited Rasmus Rindom Riise in 2010, who had a background in the hardcore/punk scene. After this new line-up the songs took shape and the band developed the style that was to be representing Dear Delusion.
The music style is best described as alternative melodic hard rock with a twist of hardcore and grunge. The lyrics have a critical stance and call in question the society of the spectacle that everybody has to deal with in the post-modern age.
In 2011 Dear Delusion went to play at a festival in Kolding called Trolden Festival. This concert turned out to be an important one, since the group got signed with the record label, Trolden Music, which also were carried on by the organiser of the festival. This gave the opportunity to bring out the musical and lyrical message of the band, which was materialised in form of Imprisonment – the debut record of Dear Delusion. The twelve songs on the record can be considered as a comment on the celebrity praised and money based society and its affect on human beings.
In the year 2014 the band underwent numerous line-up changes: In the spring the band was expanded, when they were joined by guitarist and vocalist, Andreas Bjerno. After six years as a trio, the band was now a quartet.
Another huge change happened in the summer, when Martin decided to leave the band to focus on his academic career. Shortly after, the right replacement was found: Bassist Simon Gessø. This new line-up allowed the band to make a stronger and more massive sound performance.
