The life...I am Pat was drawn to the beach ever since he was a kid. He was born and raised in the fishing village of Scheveningen. When he was 9 years old he got his first surfboard from his neighbor. Pat has been hooked to surfing ever since... During a surf competition in France in the summer of 2000 for the European pro junior surf tour Pat got injured... While recovering he picked up a pen and started writing rhymes. Little did he know that this was the beginning of a completely new journey and the birth of a new dream. Together with friends he founded Splendid in 2001. After touring throughout Europe with Splendid, playing multiple major European stages like, Trafalgar square in London, Lowlands, Parkpop, Sziget and Fusion... Pat now welcomes you to his new project... Pat Smith! -- The songs are produced by Robin Veldman and Jan van Wieringen (Caro Emerald a.o.). They created a backdrop of vibey samples, electronic beats and acoustic instruments to compliment Pat's raw voice. On stage Pat Smith is backed by live electronics, keys and guitar. The surfing lifestyle and the vibe it carries always resonates in Pat's music... In the end of 2015 his debut EP ‚Lighthouse’ will be released on the Dutch record label "In The Lobby", preceded by its lead single "The Pirate" on November 6th, 2015.
