About House of Broken Promises
Album Description
Five years after their debut album and with a new singer, something unreleased is coming.
HOUSE OF BROKEN PROMISES, the heavy-stoner-metal-desert-rock trio from Indio, California is ready to give you a unique piece of music with 2 unreleased killer songs, and 2 covers, respectively, Black Sabbath and Billy Squier, plus a bunch of outtakes and live songs for a running time of 30 minutes.
The amazing artwork is by Solo Macello, the Italian illustrator, that creates much of the HPS Record designs. The band (ex-Unida) repeat the success of the old formula, with the incredible drumming of Mike Cancino, the wall of guitar sounds of Arthur Seay, who is also the album’s
Producer, and newcomer Joe Mora, who completes the heavy sound with his thunderous bass lines and growling vocals a la John Garcia. He is no newcomer to the scene, hailing from his own Los Angeles based stoner rock band, HDR.
The album was recorded at Arthur Seay’s studio located in Indio, California, the deep desert, close to the Joshua Tree experience that inspired so many artists in film, music and writing. The listener can feel the dust of the desert in their mouth, driving a rumbling hot rod down the desert highway surrounded by the howling of coyotes.
Biography
HOUSE OF BROKEN PROMISES is an Indio, CA based desert-stoner rock/metal band consisting of guitarist Arthur Say (Unida, ApeSh!t), bassist/vocalist Joe Mora (HDR, Street Drugs DTLA, Pete Yorn) and drummer Mike Cancino (Unida, Lynch Mob). Formed from the ashes of UNIDA (which also featured John Garcia of KYUSS fame), HOUSE OF BROKEN PROMISES is a pure shot of classic hard rock, stoner rock and metal. With their Small Stone Records debut "Using the Useless" this trio lead the charge in a more refined stoner metal approach than the standard stoner rock sound of similar scene bands. Now recently signed to Heavy Psych Sounds Records, they bring you their second release and new EP “Twisted”.
HOUSE OF BROKEN PROMISES incorporates bombastic drum beats, gritty rock vocals, thundering bass and guitars with high octane fueled riffs and screaming solos. Composing songs dealing with social instability, political corruption, vices and apocalyptic prophecies. Now with 4 tours of Europe under their belt, that contained performances at DesertFest Berlin 2013, DesertFest London 2013, HellFest 2014, DesertFest Athens 2016, War Machine Over Balkans Tour 2016, headlining European Tour 2017 and Japan 2018. Let it be known that HOUSE OF BROKEN PROMISES is the definition of a hard rock power trio.
