About Jesus Florido
Jesús Florido combines his classical training with his studies of Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Rock, and Fiddle music to create a compelling artistry balanced on a fine axis of musical virtuosity and pure heart, as evidenced in his debut solo album, Heading North. “My album is a true melting pot, fulfilling a hole of culturally musical integration,” He explains. Jesús incorporates the classical philosophies of such teachers as Eligiuz Stoiñsky, Larry Shapiro, Davis Brooks, Joseph Gingold, Margareth Pardee, and Dorothy DeLay. These influences have guided Jesús through his success as a chamber musician as well as a recitalist. His vivacious performances of the Complete Mozart Sonatas in Vienna for Mozart’s Aniversary in 2005 remain a career highlight to this day. Utilizing both acoustic and electric violins in his performances and recordings,Jesús Florido’s discography includes released records with Nima & Merge, Healer, Dan Hicks and the Hotlicks, Gary Hoey, Voyeur, Delarge, Hattler, Paula Mengarelli, and Nicholas Gunn. Additionally, he has shared the stage with the likes of Zubin Metha, Pinchas Zukerman, Itzhak Perlman, Whitney Houston, Moody Blues, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.
