Sons of Annie Jones

Deutsche Version: „Melodisch, druckvoll und vor allem tanzbar soll es sein!“, waren die selbst gesteckten Vorgaben zur ersten gemeinsamen Probe der 2010 gegründeten „Sons of Annie Jones“. Was dabei rauskam, ist der etwa 3 Wochen später fertig gestellte Song „Birds“ aus der gleichnamigen Debüt-EP (2011). „Das ging dann alles doch ziemlich fix!“, lautet einer der immer noch etwas ungläubigen Kommentare gegenüber Lokalradiosendern und unterstützenden Bands aus dem Norden Deutschlands auf die Frage, wie man sich die Klickzahlen auf YouTube erkläre. Tatsache ist, dass „Birds“ mittlerweile über 180 000 Aufrufe zählt, woran die englischen Mixtapes „Sucking Lemons“ und „It’s All Indie“ wohl nicht unbeteiligt sein dürften. Die ersten Auftritte in Kiel und Umgebung sind also schon lange passé, womit sich der Radius von Auftritten nach Hamburg erweitert hat, wo die Jungs bereits mit befreundeten Bands wie Ocean Stereo und Hurricane Dean spielten. Nachdem die Single „Usually“ (2012) schon online erschienen ist, befindet sich aktuell die Veröffentlichung eines bereits abgedrehten Videos in den Startlöchern, sowie ein Remix von Philip Fuchs (Underneath The Balance/In Golden Tears). Auch als Grafikdesigner des Covers für "Usually" haben sich „Sons of Annie Jones“ keinen geringeren ins Boot geholt als Stefan Vincent (The Cads). Was die Zukunft betrifft, sind sich Ben (Guitar/Vocals), Jannik (Drums), Marcel (Bass) und Seb (Guitar/Synth) einig: „Wir wollen noch ’ne Menge Shows spielen! Von mir aus auch in Hintertupfingen! English version: „Melodic, forceful and especially danceable – that’s how it should be!“ such were the self-set aims for the first rehearsal of four guys who formed a band called “Sons of Annie Jones” in 2010. What came about some 3 weeks later was the completion of their first song “Birds” from the same-titled debut EP (2011). “Everything just went pretty quickly then!” is one of the still rather disbelieving comments towards local radio stations and supportive bands from the north of Germany when confronted with the question of how to explain the number of clicks on YouTube. The fact is that, by now, “Birds” counts more than 180,000 views, which is probably also owed to the English mixtapes “Sucking Lemons” and “It’s All Indie”. The first gigs in Kiel and its environs therefore are long passé and the band has extended its gig radius as far as Hamburg, where they have already played with friendly bands like Ocean Stereo and Hurricane Dean. After the single “Usually” (2012) has already been posted online, the release of an already shot music video is now at the ready, as well as a remix by Philip Fuchs (Underneath The Balance/In Golden Tears). As a graphic designer for the cover of “Usually” the band got no less than Stefan Vincent (The Cads) on board. As to the future, Ben (guitar/vocals), Jannik (drums), Marcel (bass) and Seb (guitar/synth) agree: “We still want to play plenty of shows!
