Man Behind the Curtain

Created in 2011 by former members of Nashville progressive rock group The Ariatic Silence, Man Behind the Curtain remains united under a single foundational philosophy: the idea that art is merely a tangible expression of the unique human soul, and might not necessarily fit into a convenient package or genre. The band's influences range from metal, hip-hop, reggae and punk to dance, jazz, folk and bluegrass, all of which find a place in this dynamic three-piece's material. Powerful and heavy, yet beautiful and delicate, Man Behind the Curtain's sound strives to abandon many popular musical conventions, taking the listener on aural journey through soaring, ethereal soundscapes, into bone-crushing breakdowns, quirky jazz "lickery," and infectious, crowd-moving grooves, with formulaic precision, all-the-while creating deep and personal connections with listeners from across many genres with ear-capturing melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. Having toured the American Southeast, their powerful live performances garnering rave reviews from concert-goers and fellow musicians alike, the group moves forward with a heightened musical synergy and an unyielding desire to spread their music, their message, and their energy as far as the wave will travel. With the 2012 release of their demo EP, and their first full-length release, mixed by the incomparable Dave Demay, set to drop this year, Man Behind the Curtain aim to give listeners of all demographics something a little different from what they might be used to, and to put on a live show that has audiences dancing to a slightly different rhythm.
