David and Tim met in a guitar shop in 2002, they then swanned about trying to form a band that could produce the riffs and grooves that would satisfy them. That didn't happen until Craig Copland joined the fold in 2007, with Brett "Tree" Shelfer on drums. Releasing a Self Title EP soon after that they played anywhere and everywhere that would have them. Culminating with Hammerfest and a Headline spot on the Young Bloods stage at Hard Rock Hell in 2010. Soon after the recording of the EP "Remember Who Put You There" in early 2010, Brett Shelfer left to be replaced by Lee "The Bear" Barrett on drums. More shows ensued. When in 2011 Belligerence made their Download Festival debut and hit the studio straight after. They resulting EP "Now Here's Your Secret" is release April 2012 and is produced by Justin Hill (Sikth). 2011 closing with shows at the Camden Barfly and the Borderline with Cobra and Lotus and Godsized. Ollie Soundy, of House Fires, joined on second guitar and backing vox in 2014. Debut album due January 2018, as the band hit the studio in Oct/Nov 2017. Belligerence have shared stages with Biohazard, Crowbar, Red Fang,, Malefice, The Smoking Hearts, Godsized, CB6 and many more. hostile or warlike attitude or nature
