About Kasha

Kasha is an unsigned English rapper from Charlton, London and part of a production team called Vivid Imagery. Kasha has been labelled ‘the strongest lyricist in the UK’ by Kiss100, he has been likened vocally to Tupac and has been described as a breath of freshest air for Hip Hop. His style of rap is warm yet raw, emotional yet punky. He tells serious stories of his surroundings, the problems in the world and his dreams but he always has time to throw in some fun every once and a while. Unlike most hip hop the music is melody driven, choosing only the most energetic or soulfulness of beats. This is international Hip Hop but with all the excitement of the UK sound.

On April 6th 2009 Kasha will release his debut album called ‘The Oracle’, which is designed to bring back the essence of the early 90’s hip hop but with 21st century quality. The Oracle adds to this lyrically strong, musically rich hip hop era and opens up the sound to new ears, the rap style is melodic and fresh and opens up the to people who never really new they liked hip hop. On top of this it adds the positive wisdom and experience of a young man growing up in the UK.

Kasha continually involves himself in many projects and in Mid 2009 he will release a charity single and video entitled ‘You Have A Choice’ which is officially backed by the MET Police. Its intention is to reduce knife and gun crime on our streets by tackling the problem at source. Kasha has already headlined this track at the NEC and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium with support from Chipmunk and has many more performances coming in 2009.

Kasha has worked with actors such as Frank Harper from ‘Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and Kasha also provided one of the lead tracks alongside Klashnekoff and Kyza on ‘The Sting Operation’. This is a 20 track release that’s been very successful in Germany and is highly revered amongst it’s hip hop scene. A further international collaboration from Kasha is his work for the American Album ‘King’s Pawn’, which inserted Kasha into the almost impervious USA hip-hop scene. Kasha also makes an appearance on the ‘People’s Army Album’ which is due for release in 2009. The Album will feature many rap artists from the UK’s ‘End of the Weak’ and ‘People’s Army’ movements. Recently Kasha remixed Estelle’s American boy into a version called American Girl, the track was released on a small scale to his fans and a few dj’s as a bit of fun but the track soon found itself playing on several commercial radio stations and clocking up over 100000 plays across the internet. Another notable success for Kasha and Vivid Imagery was the signing of a sponsorship deal in 2007 with an American trainer company called Kashi Kicks and earning the finalist status in the Hugo Urban Rules competition of 2008.

“The MCs are the usual roll call of London underground” “though newcomer Kasha excels”
Touch Magazine Review of the Beezwax Album

With tracks selling around the globe, airplay on Kiss, Choice, Xfm, BBC 1xtra and Galaxy, appearances on MTV and TMF, Kasha’s unique and diverse approach to music is cutting through the market. UK rap has finally come of age.
