About Kenelis
Kenelis delivered a hard hitting mix of Alt Rock with elements of Punk Grunge and Hardcore. Fronted by feisty charismatic Mel Sanson, the band delivered an energy emotive live performance. Sharing the stage with the likes of Reuben, You Me at Six, The Blackout, Fightstar, Ghost of a Thousand, Republica and The Levellers. Magazine features and rave reviews in Rocksound Magazine, Big Cheese Magazine, Viva Le Rock, Diva & G3, Room Thirteen, God is In The TV and Alt Sounds. The band built up a strong loyal following on the underground music scene with regular London shows that include Scala, 100 club, IndigO2 and The Relentless Garage as well as pride festivals in the UK and International. Kenelis released their Debut album 'Remember How It Felt on their own label 'Black Grass Records' in 2009, followed by their second album 'Fake' in June 2011 which were both produced by Angus Cowan (Redwood, Reuben, Jamie Lenman). Their final release 'Move', a 4 track EP was released, produced by Chris Coulter (Arcane Roots) on the 10th December 2012. In 2013 Kenelis won The Brighton Music Awards 'Viewers Choice'. The band's live success also included London's award winning promoters FeedMe Music's band of the month. Other noteworthy highlights include; Room Thirteen band of the month, NMT band of the year and G3 magazine's band of the year. In 2014/2015 the band finished on a high with a sold out Scala Show, supporting Soufly and Arcane Roots at the Big Cheese Cave, Guilfest and sharing the stage with Republica, at Brighton Pride.
