About Horse In Transit

HORSE IN TRANSIT As the name suggests, Yorkshire's H.I.T are a fast moving, heavy weight, trailer full of hardcore noise. January 2013 will see the release of brand new 6 track EP 'If I Were A God' engineered and produced by the band and mastered by Grammy Award winner Dick Beetham of 360 Mastering (Sikth, Funeral for a Friend, Enter Shikari, Rise to Remain ). This new release builds upon the 2012 demo release and shows H.I.T developing a signature sound, crossing between technical metal, hardcore and anthemic rock. These are songs for dancing, these are songs for loving and these are songs that will ruin your life. 'If I Were A God' will be the first release after signing to independent UK label Mercurial Records in Autumn 2012, featuring artwork by Paul Hainsworth (Gallows & The Blackout). H.I.T's self produced debut demo, "Unobtainable Superhuman Dreams" (2012) sounded out their range of influences. From UK hardcore to the biggest riffs from across the pond; three tracks that move through aggressive hardcore to dirty rock and roll. The demo saw the band play extensively across the UK with large scale touring plans for the release of 'If I Were A God' in 2013. PRESS “Horse in Transit, huh? Sure, their name suggests that they're simply going through the motions, but that's just not the case here. In reality, their new six-track EP, 'If I Were A God' is as direct as it is diligent when it comes to being loud. Whereas, Horse in Transit's self produced debut, 'Unobtainable Superhuman Dreams' mingled rowdy hardcore with searing metal, 'If I Were A God' declares that they're not a one trick, er, horse. Opener 'Hollow' is slow to stir up the adrenaline, but the jarring breaks of 'Lucky Strike' and nimble riffs of 'Survival Plan' wield an even more chameleonic force. 'Why don't you fucking listen?' vocalist David Mitten vents in penultimate track, 'I Am'. With any luck, Horse in Transit won't be asking that question for much longer. KKK” Emily Carter, Kerrang! “Take the slightly odd name out of the equation, what you have is a great record. The instrumentation provides the perfect base for a very powerful vocal. On a simple level, Horse in Transit make great metal music. To take it further they, add a nice southern influence with a great Rock n Roll twist. The doom riffs and solos of "Hollow" and intricate rhythmic guitars of "Survival Plan" make a record that keeps the listener excited and entertained. This band have everything they need to make waves in a very stale industry.” Steph Carter - Gallows - 'If I Were A God' EP review "The quintet are aiming at making 2013 a huge year for themselves and, judging by their newest EP ‘If I Were A God’, they’re going to absolutely blow your mind to pieces with the titanic might of their music." Olga - www.rockbritain.com "If I Were God can fit into any metal heads collection with great ease as well as any hardcore kid’s collection. Fusing elements from bands such as Everytime I Die and Cancer Bats along with classic rock and roll rhythms, the guys in Horse in Transit have wiped their arses with the blue print, spat on it and tossed it back at the industry. 8/10" -Chris Storey - withguitars.com "[If I Were A God] is an immense adversary sparking the deepest satisfaction and ardour. Arguably comparable in sound to Every Time I Die, Periphery, Lamb of God, and Gallows, the unique Horse In Transit is a band destined to great things and their If I Were A God EP the next stunning step in their rise." RingMaster 28/01/2013 - http://ringmasterreviewintroduces.wordpress.com “These guys aren't messing around - Lucky Strike has everything you'd wish for in a metal track, and more. The contrast between perfectly in tune, well-constructed guitar melodies, and the down-right evil, half-time, dissonant drops give this song an eery progression that's as unpredictable as it is interesting. All in all, this is a great track that definitely deserves a space on any metalhead's iPod.” - Marcus Taylor, former label owner & founder of TheMusiciansGuide.co.uk , 'Lucky Strike' review “To throw in the usual ‘brutal’ and ‘aural assault;’ cliches and simply pass off this six-track mini-album from this Scarborough band as ‘another hardcore record’ would be doing HORSE IN TRANSIT a great disservice. HORSE IN TRANSIT prove here that they are not simply a ‘one trick pony’ and with a bit more variation like that evidenced in the first and final tracks they will continue to bring something fresh to the hardcore stable. (8/10)” LoudHorizon - Loud Horizon “This is a must see for any metalhead and even if you aren’t check them out anyway. Don’t let prejudice get in the way of finding great music.” - Big in the Game “Horse In Transit are one of the most energetic metal acts we’ve been involved with. Smashing through Rotten Core, these guys are the sound of pure adrenaline with the feel of an itchy trigger finger” - Leeds Acoustic, Leeds Acoustic Blog “Horse In Transit a heavy band, and a destructive force, currently from Scarborough. They tore the place apart, whipping around the whole floor in pure adrenaline. Those left rose the bar. Again, audience participation rife as the band fed from the growing atmosphere caught in some kind of feedback loop.” - Bad Apples Leeds, Rotten Core New EP "If I Were A God" - "KKK" Kerrang "This band have everything they need to make waves in a very stale industry ” Steph Carter/Gallows
