About Bandelier

"Bandelier is an American band. Their sound perhaps can be described as Midwestern. Just like they are on the map, their sound lies in between the Appalachian folk traditions, Southern country and the Southwestern Spaghetti Western soundtracks with driving tribal beats pumping throughout. They are truly a band from The Heartland." Bandelier formed in the summer of 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hailing from the North Dallas area, Ryan Allen originally studied piano and eventually fell under the spell of The Smithsonian Folkways as well as Woody Guthrie which drew him to the guitar and shaped him into a songwriter. Years later, in an effort to feed his creative hunger, Ryan pulled together his most talented friends and although the band started out as something to do 'just for fun', it quickly was realized they were dealing with something of a different nature entirely. The band started to practice in an old warehouse in Downtown Tulsa where their sound and voice was strengthened and finally formed. After four years, Bandelier independently released their debut record entitled "Landlines" in the Fall of 2014. The album features other friends and artists including Jesse Aycock (Hard Working Americans) on pedalsteel guitar, Chris Combs (Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey) on electric and lapsteel guitar, Eric Noble on trumpet and songwriter Erin O'Dowd lends her vocals as well.
