Mike Blackwell

Mike Blackwell is an Americana singer-songwriter from the Ozarks whose songs blend folk, country and roots music with an emphasis on storytelling.

His 2008 album Come Back to Me introduced a catalog that has since earned recognition beyond the stage: “Oh Louisiana” was a John Lennon Songwriting Contest finalist, “Disappeared” was an American Songwriter finalist, and “Better Days” was featured in TLC’s Return to Amish.

Blackwell is currently recording his forthcoming album Moral Compass, but another record took shape along the way. Written and recorded quickly in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the five-song EP Drifting Moth emerged as its own project and arrives ahead of the still-in-progress album.

Rooted in the same songwriting tradition that has defined his work, Drifting Moth captures a particular moment rather than waiting for the larger story to be finished.
