The Cologne/ Aachen quartet plays its own modern version of guitar-based indie-pop, which is influenced by veterans like Pavement and Blur. Mixed up with 70s-synth-sounds, they switch between deep melancholia and noisy rock songs. Bittersweet pop meets the wall of sound, fragile guitar riffs mash up with meandering organ loops. HEY HEYs debut ep "we dance" was released May, 13th, 2013. The second ep “Shimmering“ was released October, 31st, 2015 and contains six songs. The epic title track with its noisy guitar riffs, hypnotic vocals and ecstatic finish is followed by the 2:30-minute-indie-pop-pearl “Frozen Meals“ and the wavy “Ashes“.“Accident“, “Hyperreal“ and the hymnic 8 minutes of “58“ finish the record. The band celebrated its new release with a sold out release show in their hometown Aachen. Playing live is HEY HEY's musical prime directive. They love to play for new audiences, get in contact with people just through their music and create an intimate atmosphere.Their next projects are a spring tour in Belgium, Netherlands and France and the recording of the new single “Norway".
