About The Bellwethers
Phoenix, like the mythological bird, has seen many bands born and reborn in the desert valley. The Bellwethers rose from the ashes of musical acts stretching back to the east coast and all the way to the west. They are on a journey to quench the musical thirst of their desert hometown and beyond. Combining the dark and light lyrical alchemy of lead singers Fran Scianna and KZ Scianna, the alt-rock and blues guitar sorcery of Bill Stimson, and the tribal, soul moving rhythm of Corey Plueard and Dan Scianna, The Bellwethers create a sonic spell book that captivates and entrances audiences small and large. With their third studio album, Psychic Radio, the band journeys to the cosmos, rewinds time, peers through the looking glass for redemption and pierces the veil to send a message into the unknown. Working with GRAMMY-award winning Engineer and Producer, Andrew Coleman, the band continues to add to their sonic cauldron.
Since hitting the Phoenix music scene in 2010, The Bellwethers consistently perform edgy, high-energy, original rock that light up stages across the Southwest. Gigging everywhere from dive bars to marquee venues, the band boasts a collective dynamic of talented musicians originating from the Southwest and East Coast. The band has opened for international acts like Papa Roach, REO Speedwagon, the Fran Cosmo band (former members of Boston), and Don Felder (former guitarist for The Eagles). They have also been a featured artist at the Arizona Cardinals Pre-Game Show at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
An assemblage of music veterans, the band combines a broad brush of music styles combined with thought-provoking lyrics, layered into soulful beats resulting in an artistic signature that makes them one of the Southwest’s must-see acts. With influences ranging from Pink Floyd to Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones, The Bellwethers weave their way through multiple genres, belting out powerful performances of original rock underneath the bright desert lights.
Anyone who has seen the band perform is well aware of their incendiary live shows. Think blues, psychedelic, punk and classic 70's-era rock tossed into a blender and turned on high. The band continues to expand its horizons, gaining new fans at each performance and generating enthusiastic reviews. A community-minded group, the band regularly plays benefits for various charity organizations, with a strong commitment to supporting impoverished families, suicide prevention, and cancer research.
The Bellwethers’ music has been featured on radio stations, playlists, and podcasts from around the globe. You can find the band's original tunes on their website, as well as all the major online streaming and retail sites.
