Dexter Dextrous and the Fingersmiths

We've been described by some, as 'Funk and Soul White Boys', and by others as 'a surreal, funkier version of the Arctic Monkeys'. Whether or not either of these statements reflect reality we leave it for you to judge… Our 2010 E.P. – '5 Fingers' – was reviewed by No-Title magazine, who described it as embracing: 'all aspects of theatricality in a brimming blend of hillbilly-folk, funk and reggae styles, producing a joyfully haphazard sound with a manifesto to entertain’. Whatever the truth may be, as a group we suffer from a tendency towards mischievous musical madness, resulting in a collection of songs that cross genres and styles with complete abandon. Our first love will always remain funk and ska however; it’s what brought the band together and what keeps us truckin’. For your listening pleasure we present our EP, '5 Fingers', recorded at Cannonball Recordings with the help of the illustrious Bootscraper boys. Since then we’ve added a further two members to the band, resulting in the creation of a brass section so powerful that they can be heard from space! Here to meet all your dexterity needs.
