Swallow The Hook

Swallow the Hook, originally named Last Ones Left (LOL), was started in the summer of 2009, Halloween if we're talking specifics. The members have changed over the years, but Swallow the Hook is finally ready to truly shine. In the beginning the members were Mike Mowery, Jake Hutchison, Ryan Short, Eric Voelker, and Mikey Shephard. Mikey helped the band stray from the ordinary and really get a good feel for "metal" music. As time progressed they added an additional singer, Matt Mullen, and replaced their original bassist and luckily found an amazingly talented and determined bassist, Austin Smith. Matty, as the boys called him helped make the vocals more progressive, bringing highs and lows to a new level, while Austin brought a new feel to the band, full of energy and ready to lay down some sick bass riffs. The band steadily grew and played many shows thanks to their new connections and new bad ass members. While showing off the new band to a good friend Cade Peters they managed to get him so interested in the band that he wanted to start doing synth work for their already progressive music. Cade brought along his mad skills and made an awesome addition. Sadly Cade has stepped out of the band for now, but he gave the boys more ideas and a fresher style. Unfortunately they did lose Mikey and Matty, due to personal issues, but Matty was kind enough to step in and help everyone out when we needed him most. An even more tough decision had to be made when they decided to replace their guitarist, Jake, but as it happened, found a new and very talented shredder of the axe. Richard Hougham stepped in guitar in hand and laid down a sound the like these guys had never heard and astonished them. Right away they began making new music, turning the old band into a mere memory. They were writing more melodic and technical metal, adding in riffs that tore out your soul and made a tear come to your eye. They did finally find a sickly twisted and insanely inspirational vocalist, Chase Clem. Now this kid is the definition of screaming genius. He absolutely blew us away when we first heard his voice, now every time someone hears the band they can't help but stare in awe of the glory that is Swallow the Hook. We are more than happy to have this guy on our team. After much deliberation Richard stepped down from his post, but left the boys with good memories and amazing music. He has now been replaced with the new guitarist Eric Gonzalez. He is an amazing guitarist, to say the least, and we are thrilled to start making some bad ass and more challenging music with him. The bassist, Austin, decided to pick up clean vocals and keys whenever STH demands variety and a taste for creative spirit. Due to some personal issues and circumstances, Chase was asked to resign from his throne and STH was in search of a new vocalist. After a few tryouts, the band decided to go with their bassist, Austin, for the new frontman position. We are currently trying out bass players. So let us know ASAP if you can play bass and are dedicated.. we'd love to have YOU!!!
